As I walked back to my house, I felt a tear run down my face, but I quickly wiped it away. I heard someone running behind me, but I ignored it. I didn't feel like talking to anyone at that point, anyways. I felt a hand on my shoulder and I turned around. It was Benny. I sighed and looked at the dusty ground and spoke up. "I guess i overreacted, huh?" He shook his head. "No, I was about to run out my self," he said and smiled. I laughed quietly.
We both decided to not go back to the sandlot until then next day. The state fair had opened the night before, so we went there for the night. It was fun, but not as fun as it wouldv'e been with the rest of the guys there with us. Benny and I didn't really go on any rides that night; we mostly just ate food. After the fair, we walked back to our houses, but stopped when we saw all the guys standing on the sidewalk in front of them. Squints spoke up. "Look, we're sorry we teased you, it was pretty stupid," he said, and I could tell that he really didn't mean it. Yeah Yeah added to Squints' comment. "Yeah, yeah, truly. We didn't wanna hurt your feelings." I looked at Benny, and he shrugged.
I decided to fogive them, since it wasn't very life changing. I shrugged. "Whatever, I guess," I said as i made my way past them. "Night," I yelled to them while walking through the doorway. I looked outthe window and they were all still out there, not moving an inch. I shrugged and opened the fridge to make a glass of chocolate milk. My mom was out at a party for her job, and I assumed she wouldn't be home for another good two hours. They were still outside, sitting on my lawn like it was theirs. I rolled my eyes and walked into the living room to watch some evening comedy that came on every night. I laid down on the couch and drifted off to sleep after a while.
