I'm pretty sure we all fell asleep at around two in the morning. I mean, why waste hours going to bed early? It's summer break, afterall. Smalls was the first one to wake up. He woke up hours before everyone else, and I'm guessing that he just sat there. Once we were all completely awake and aware, we rolled up our sleeping bags and headed home before we went back to the sandlot to play.
I walked into my house, and the smell of breakfast made my stomach growl like The Beast. My mom wasn't in the kitchen, so I guessed that she was either doing laundry or in the backyard. i grabbed some bacon and walked to my room. I held the bacon in my mouth as I rummaged through my clothes drawers for something to wear.
I pulled out a baseball tee with dark blue sleeves, another pair of jeans with cuffed bottoms, and my LA Dodgers hat that Benny gave me, like, maybe six years ago. I finished off the bacon that was in my mouth, closed my curtains, then changed into my clothes. When I was dressed, I walked to the porch and put on my PF Flyers. I have to leave them outside since they get hella dirty. I grabbed my glove and stood up, hopping down the three cement steps.
I walked up the steps to Benny's porch, and just as I was about to knock on the door, he opened it and i laughed. I looked at what he was wearing, and he was wearing the exact same thing as me. He looked at what I was wearing, and we both started lauging at the same time. We started wallking down to the sandlot, and I spoke up, "I wonder what the guys are gonna say." He laughed and shrugged. "I don't know, but there's gonna be a lot of laughing," he said.
