That night Annabeth and I decided to go home. Leo was alright for the moment and I didn't want Annabeth to have to sleep another night in an uncomfortable chair. She needed a real bed.
"Percy, thsi is serious. If Gorgon wasn't just saying this to worry us or trick us or something, then we're screwed." Annabeth said as we sat on the couch in the living room. I sighed.
"Why would he say it to trick us? Why would he care about tricking us? He's definetly for real." I said, exhausted.
"OK. We have got to figure this out." Annabeth was about to get up, no doubt to grab her laptop and start to figure this out. I grabbed her waist and pulled her back down beside me.
"We will. But for now, can we please just talk about something else?" I didn't mean to get cranky but I was so tired of just talking about the bad things in life. I think everybody forgets that there are good things in life too.
"OK. What do you want to talk about?" She asked, taking my hand and facing me.
"Let's talk about the babies. If we are going to be parents, we need to know all we can." I said. This was true. I knew nothing about being a dad.
"Yes. I am going to the library tomorrow. I will check out some parenting books for us. Also, we need to go shopping for baby stuff. It is going to take quite a while before we are ready. We need to start now." Annabeeth said.
"OK. We can go bright and early. I will start the shopping while you are at the library. We can meet later." I said. She nodded and with that came a large yawn.
"Are you tired?" I asked her.
"Yeah. I dim't get any sleep while you were out risking your life." Annabeth gave another large yawn.
"Yeah. I'm tired too. Let's go to bed." I got up and stretched my limbs. When I turned back around Annabeth was already curled in a ball on the couch, sound asleep.
Grinning at how cute she looked, I scooped her up and carried her to the bedroom.
---------
The next morning I woke up before Annabeth and got up to cook breakfast. I walked downstairs to the kitchen and pulled out the pancake pan. I grabbed the mix, a large bowl, some food coloring, and some spoons. I set to work after putting on Annabeth's apron.
She came down about ten minutes later. I put a plate of pancakes in front of her and handed her the syrup. I poured her a cup of coffee and ate my own breakfast.
Since I had been too busy to go to work Annabeth had started up a job. She worked full time at the school as a math and english teacher. I was planning on taking up either the gym teaching position or the training officer for Camp Half-Blood. That's where they did all the training nowadays.
After breakfast we both got dressed and brushed our teeth.
Annabeth was wearing a turquise dress with lacy flower material over the fabric. She had the silver owl necklace I had gotten her of rher birthday around her neck. She was white heels. Her hair was pulled up in a neat pony tail. She brushed a little bit of makeup on.
I was wearing clean jeans and ccamp T-shirt.
We went into town and Annabeth headed to the library. I headed to the baby store.
I was looking or boy and girl clothes. I wasn't the best at picking out girly things and I wanted a lot of blue for my boy.
I ended up walking out of that atore with a pink wunsie that said Daddies Angel. I also had a blue wunsie that said Mamma's Love Is All Mine. I also had a little blue baseball hat.
I went into a baby furniture store and found twin cribs, except on was for a girl and the other for a boy. The girl's was pink and the boy's blue. I also found twin jumers, the same colors.
By that time, it was time to meet Annabeth for lunch. I walked over to the restaraunt and opened the door. I saw Annabeth sitting at a booth all alone reading a book. She smiled when she saw me. I sat down and showed her what I found.
"Amazing. See baby, you're a natural." Annabeth kissed my cheek and I grinned, feeling proud.
We ordered our food and ate. While we ate we chatted about the babies.
When we were done we left. Annabeth wanted to shop for more clothes and diapers and stuff.
'Why do we need diapers so early?" I asked.
"According to my book, you should have fifteen packs of diapers even before the baby is born. This will help save money and time." Annabeth said.
"OK. Lead the way." I followed her into the store and down the aisles. She led me to the diaper racks.
"What are the good kinds?" I asked. The racks were filled with at least twenty different brands.
"I don't know. Let me check." Annabeth pulled her phone out of her pocket and Googled the brands.
"From what I can tell, Pampers are the best. They have three absorbant layers and move with the baby." Annabeth said. That sounded like a commercial but Annabeth was the boss here.
"They have Podseidon and Athena ones, let's get those." I grabbed two packs of each and followed Annabeth to another aisle. Apparently we needed bottles too.
Annabeth grabbed three packs of blue and pink. They had designs of all the gods and goddesses on them.
We spent the rest of the day shopping for the babies.
