The nurse pushed Annabeth outside while I carried the babies. I led her to our car and all my friends trailed behind.
Piper helped me put the twins into their car seats and the nurse loaded Annabeth into the front.
When I pulled out we looked in the mirror and saw all our friends waving at us. I smiled and drove us home.
Annabeth and I unloaded the babies and went into the house. I set Silena down so I could take my coat off and hang it up. Then we carried them upstairs to the nursery.
Annabeth's legs were stil weak from pushing all night so I had to help her a couple times. We made it though.
We laid the babies down in their cribs and wrapped them in blankets. We each kissed their heads and quietly turned the lights out. We left their door open so we hear them easier. Annabeth also turned on the baby montor. Then we tip toed to our room. We left our door open too.
I helped Annabeth into her pajamas and we climbed into bed. She was out instantly. I was't far behind.
That night I talked to Grover through our empathy link.
"Annabeth had the kids. Ther're names are Silena Phoebe Jackson and Charles Lucas Jackson." I said as soon as I saw him. He was wearing jeans and hiking boots so I could tell that he was in public in his awake self. His hair was messy and he had dirt on his face. He smiled though when he heard the news.
"That's great. But, um Perce, I don't know if it was such a good idea?" He said, looking sheepish. I frowned.
"What was a bad idea?" I asked.
"Having kids. Especially twins. I mean your kids are now legacies. They will attract more monsters than both you and Annabeth combined because they have both Poseidon's and Athena's blood mixed into one mortal body. Thiis could casue trouble to Camp." Grover said. He looked serious.
What? Why was Grover being so mean? I wanted to punch him but instead I just glared at him.
"Don't ever talk to me again." I turned.
"You know, after all you've been through I just thought you would be used to the truth. I guess not." With that Grover ended the link.
I sat up in bed. My alarm read two a.m. I didn't know why I woke up. Normally when I have a dream like that I would just move to another dream. Then I understood.
I heard crying rom down the hall and from the baby monitor. I looked over and saw Annabeth still sound asleep. So I got up as quietly as I could and went to grab the babies. They quieted as soon as they saw me.
"Hey guys. You hungry?" I picked them both up and headed downstairs. I turned on the kitchen light and put them both in their high chairs. Then I went to make them bottles.
Annabeth had taught me how to make a baby bottle before we had the kids so I was thankful right now. When I was done I carried them and the bottles into the living room.
The babies drank their bottles happily and soon Silena had fallen asleep in my arms. I was feeding them both on the couch and it was a bit difficult to hold them both. I gently set Silena down next to me and set her bottle on the table. She curled up in her blanket and slept peacefully.
Charles fell asleep soon after. I was yawning by then.
I loaded both babies into my arms and carried them to their cribs. We had moved a couch in their room so I curled up on it with a blanket and fell asleep.
What I didn't know was Annabeth had awoken just after I left the room and was listening to me caring for the twins with a small smile playing on her lips. She went to bed, knowing her kids were in good hands.
In the morning Annabeth awoke before me and I could hear her cooking breakfast in the kitchen. I noticed the babies were whimpering quietly in their cribs and went over, scooping them each in one arm and heading downstairs for breakfast.
I had to watch the babies that day because Annabeth was going for her first job interview. I was excited at spending a whole day with my new kids.
"OK guys. Let's have some fun." I said as soon as Annabeth had closed the door behind her. Silena and Charles both laughed and I grinned.
Just as I picked them up to bring them into the nursery, my phone buzzed. I had to set the twins down again and grab my phone to look at it. It was Jason.
Hey, all of us guys are having a get together in twenty minutes. If you wanna come it's at the river. He had texted.
OK. B there soon." I said and slipped my phone back into my pocket.
The babies were too young to actually go in the water and Annabeth would kill me if she ever caught me. So... no water.
I dressed the kids in wunsies and wrapped them in blankets. Then I loaded them into their car seats and put the covers on them.
I was dressed in tan cargo shorts and an orange Camp Half-Blood T-shirt.
I drove to the end of the Camp limits and parked the car. I grabbed my kids and carried their car seats to the river edge where the guys  were all horsing around.
I set the car seats in the shade and got the babies. I put their hats on (Annabeth said if she ever caught them outside without a hat she wouls judo flip me again) then I carried them over to the guys.
"Hey guys. Silena and Charles are going to party with us for the day." I said.
"Cool. As long as little Silena doesn't go and tell anybody what we did today." Jason said, patting my back. I laughed.
"I don't think you have to worry about that guys." I said. None of the other guys had any kids today. Their wives were all home to watch them.
"Put them in the water." Travis said. He hadn't been around when they were born so he had never seen them before.
"Yeah. They would like that." Leo said.
I grinned and went to the river's edge. But before I got there something amazing happened. We all gasped.
Charles and Silena were being lifted up by the water. It had rushed over in a neat wave and collected them out of my hands. They were realed into the middle of the river and the water turned still, almost solid.
All I could do was stare for a minute. Then instincts I never knew I had kicked in. I guess I got them from being a dad. I quickly flexed my hand and the water softened, making my newborns go airborn. They laughed and grinned as I made another wave catch them and bring them to me. I grabbed them and held them close.
From then on, I knew my kids had water powers.
