In the morning I woke up in my bed. It was five thirty in the morning.
I rolled over sleepily. Annabeth wasn't in bed anymore. She wasn't in the bedroom period.
I got up and went downstairs. I stopped by the first bathroom because I heard sniffles.
I quietly opened the door to see Annabeth sitting on the toilet. (THe toilet was closed).
Annabeth was leaned over with her head in her hands. She had tears streaming through the cracks in her fingers. Her shoulders were shaking uncontrollably.
I ran over to her and bent down. She jumped when she felt my hands gently rubbing her back. She calmed down when she knew it was only me.
"Baby, what's wrong?" I asked her.
"I just found out last night Percy. I didn't tell you because I din't know how." She sobbed into her hands. I was afraid she was going to drown herself in her own tears.
"What is it hone?" I gently asked her, sitting on the floor and pulling her into my lap.
"Percy, I'm pregnant." She blurted, sobbing harder still.
     'What?!?" I exclaimed
"I took the pregnacy ttst last night before I c-came up to pack. Wh-what if the baby g-gets hurt. I can't go on this quest P-Percy." Annabeth finally looked at me. Her eyes were huge and red. They were so puffy I could barely see her eyes. Her face was soaking wet.
"Annie, you don't have to go. I can call it off for you. Don't worry about it.You can stay with Piper and Hazel." I told her, although I hated the idea of going on a qquest without her.
'But what if I go into labor and you're not home. I don't know how far in I am!" Annabeth had buried her face into my bare shoulder now.
"We'll get you a doctor's appointment while I'm gone. How does that sound?" I asked, gently smoothing her wild hair.
"OK. Yeah, and I'll IM you the resukts." Annabeth looked hopeful now. She had pulled her head out of my shoulder and was akmost smiliing.
"Yes. Now let's go and get some breakfast. I'll cook omletts. your favorite." I said, picking her up bridal style and carrying her to the kitchen.
I cooked us both an omlett and set Annabeth's in front of her. She ate it happily.
After beakfast I went upstairs to get dressed and brush my teeth. I grabbed my bag and threw on a pair of shoes. I grabbed a sweatshirt and my phone and went back downstairs.
"Bye baby. Come back to me. If you don't I will personally tell Hades to send you down to the worst part of his realm." Annabeth said seriously, kissing my lips at the door.
"I will." I said. I kissed her back and then opened the door. I looked back on my amazing girlfriend and then left. She had a tear in her eye as she watched me leave.
I walked down to the Senates Building, right in the middle of town. This is where the quest members had all decided to meet.
Frank and I were the first ones there. He was sitting on the edge of a fountain when I got there. He was making swirls in the water with his finf=ger.
"Hey man. Are you ready for this?" I asked, sitting down next to him. He looked up, a bit startled.
"Yeah. I just feel guilty. I'm leaving Hazel to deal with baby herself. I'm being a bad dad, not to mention the awful husband I am." Frank said, looking sad.
"Yeah. I know what you mean. Annabeth just found out she was pregnant last night. I feel awful leaving her." I sighed. I looked into the water and jumped back.
"Hello my boy. How are you?" My dad's face was staring at me from the the water. Poseidons face was tan and muscular.
"Gods. Why do the Gods have to always do that?' I muttered.
"Ha. Because it's funny. Anyways though, I came to give your heart a break." My dad said. I thought he was joking.
'What is that supposed to mean?' Iasked, looking at Frank, who too, wore a face of confusion.
"While you guys are gone I will protect your families. Frank, no need to worry about being a bad husand. You're not. I will set protection on Hazel Zhang and your baby. And Percy, stop worrying about what Annabeth will think while you're gone. I will set her protection too. Your families will be safe while you're gone. Don't worry." Poseidon said.
"Thanks dad. That means a lot. For both of us." I told him, by the moved look on Frank's face, I could tell he felt the same.
Hey dudes. We're here. Sorry we're late, I kind overslept." Leo and Calypso walked up to the fountain, both with bags on their backs.
"It's OK. Bye dad, we gotta go." I looked back at the water but my dad was already gone. I turned to the group and led the way to Camp Jupiter's borders.
The only way out of the camp was to go over the bridgeless river that surrounded the camp. I guess that was what I was going to have to handle.
I conjured a huge wave to carry us across the river. It formed stairs leading down to the f=ground and we kept going oward.
After the river, there was about a mile walk to a huge mountain. We had to climb the mountain. On top of the muntain was a cave. The cave led us onto a highway.
We covered the mile in about ten minutes when we all jogged.
"how are we going to climb this?' Frank asked, staring up at the mountain.
"I could build something." Leo suggested, gesturing to his magical toolbelt that he never took off. The toolbelt could hold anything.
"OK. Go for it." I said.
Leo pulled out four medium sized tires, a bunch o wood, a steering wheel, a bunch of wores, and some tools. He set to work.
By the time he was done, which was five minues later, he had made a car like thing. It had no top but it had four seats and a steering wheel. It looked heavy duty with some steel around the edges. There was even room to move around and a trunk to set our bags. Leo never failed to amaze me.
We all piled in. Leo and Calypso in the front and Frank and I in the back. Leo drove us up the hill and through the cave.
We pulled out into traffic with the buggy.
"Manhattan, here we come." Frank said.
When we stop, I am going to have to put a roof and radio in. I was also thining about windows and a TV." Leo said, making conversation.
"OK.Cool. Could you also put in a small water trough so we can IM on the road/' I suggested.
"Yeah. Oh yeah, why isn't Annabeth here?" Leo asked, looking back at me.
"She er, just found out we're having a baby." I said awkwardly.
     "Really, that's great" Leo exclaimed.
We rode in silence for what seemed like forever. Calypso fell asleep and eventually, I did too.
