I awoke the next morning to the sound of my dog barking. I sat up and rubbed my face.

I cautiously stood up as I grabbed my phone, making my way towards my bathroom. I clicked the home button. It was 6:42 am. I had twelve texts from Luke, six from Michael, and four from Ashton.

"Wake up!" Michael said six times.

"Hey. Can you come to our gig on Thursday?" asked Ashton.

"Hey. So I think you're asleep, but your lazy ass needs to wake up!"

"Hey...wake up."

"Wake up." said Luke ten times.

The last messages I received from Luke read "come to our gig Thursday. It'll be fun."

I really liked gigs, but for some reason I wasn't feeling it 100%.

"I can try. With school starting, I'll be prepping for mum to return so she can lecture me about how important this year is going to be." I replied to Luke.

I tossed my phone on the bed and headed to my closet to grab my uniform for school. Skirt, blouse, tights, blazer, and my tie. Each year, we got a different colored tie. Year twelve...we got red and black ties.

Once I was dressed, I grabbed my bag and my phone. I headed downstairs to grab a bottle of water before heading out the door.

My phone buzzed. It was my boyfriend, Kyle.

"Hey babes. I won't be able to get you today. Sorry." I sighed.

As I searched through my contacts, I came across Michael's name. I tapped the 'call' symbol and put the phone to my ear.

"Hey Mikey. Kyle can't get me. Can you pick me up?" I asked nervously.

Michael lived in the same neighborhood as I did, so I hoped it wouldn't be an issue.

"Yeah. Give me 10 minutes and I'll be out front!" He replied. I hung up and put my phone in my bag.

I looked in the huge mirror by the door to make sure everything looked appropriate. I looked alright. Minus the having to wear a uniform part of my day.

Ten minutes had passed and I walked outside to see Michael sitting on the hood of his car, holding a styrofoam plate.

"Breakfast?" He said, handing me the plate with a smug grin on his face. I looked down and saw the slice of pizza. I took a small bite as I situated myself in his car.

"So why couldn't he get you?" Michael asked, stuffing another massive bite of pizza.

I looked down at my lap, sighing. I actually didn't know how to answer his question. I took another bite of the pizza.

"I actually don't know. He just said that he couldn't. And you live close by." I replied, swallowing the food I had previously in my mouth.

Michael, looked over at me nodding. His eyes gave me that "I'm sorry" look.

When we arrived on campus, his friends Ashton and Luke were waiting for us. We got out of the car and quickly walked over to them. The two seemed to be talking about something.

"This gig is going to be awesome! I can't wait!" Ashton said. Seems that they were talking about their show that was coming up.

"Are you able to come?" Luke asked. I looked down at my feet and back at him, meeting his gaze.

" I honestly don't know, Luke. I'm going to try, but no promises." I replied. He smiled like he usually does. Biting his lip ring, he smirked and nodded. Then, I felt a muscular arm around my waist.
