Chapter 9: Scary movies and late night sleepovers

{Riley's P. O. V.}

Pillow covering my eyes I screamed in fear. My legs were bent towards my body and a pillow was prop between my chest and legs. Hiding anything from my line of vision.

River thought it was a great idea to watch a horror movie with me. Yea bad move River bad move. We were currently watching Sinister. And to be completely honest I think I peed my pants a little.

It was terrifying. No terrifying was an understatement. It was literally the scariest most petrifying thing I've ever seen in my life. After this I know I wouldn't be able to sleep tonight. Or for the rest of my life for that matter. The whole time River sat back laughing. Not just at me but at the scary parts. Like what kind of messed up world is he living in.

Horror movies aren't meant to be funny they are meant to scare poor innocent people like me. The end credits started rolling up on the screen and I was pretty happy the movie was done. All of a sudden the feeling of cold hands wrapped around my ankle.

I screamed, scrambled as fast as I could to get up and off the couch and I threw the pillow I was holding earlier at River's face. He laughed.

As I went to turn around the cold hand clasped onto my wrist which made me let out another horrified scream. All of a sudden I was pulled into someone. I closed my eyes. It was a demon here to kill me.
But what came next wasn't a demon trying to kill me. It was arms that surrounded me. Warmth instantly warmed my shaking body. Still eyes closed I put my face into River's chest and let his warmth envelope me. He smelt of mint and cologne.

"I didn't think you were gonna act this scared." He said with a chuckle. I glared at his chest but didn't speak. As soon as realization dawned on me I visualized what kind of position we must of been in. I quickly pushed him away and got up in my feet.
"Umm.. I sleep go.. I mean...go sleep I... I'm going to sleep now. Bye!" I squeaked and ran up the stairs to the guest room I was staying in.

Riley you're so stupid. Why the heck would you ever let someone like River hold you like that. Do you even know what boys like that can do to girls like you. They tell you to trust them and then they go and break your heart! I shook those annoying thoughts from my head and decided to change into a t-shirt River lent me and some cotton shorts Sara let me borrow. I climbed into the soft sheets of the bed and hid under them.

I was scared to fall asleep. What if a demon came and killed me right here. Soon enough sleep came and I was out.

I screamed and sat up from the place on the bed that looked unfamiliar to me. All of a sudden I remembered were I was. I had just woke Up from a nightmare. Well two nightmares to be honest. First being about the scary movie River made me watch then slowly turning into a nightmare about my mom. Overall I was terrified to fall back asleep. I checked the time on the clock and saw it was only 2 in the morning I had only been asleep for an hour.

I pushed the covers off of me and let my bare feet hit the cold hardwood floor. I took a blanket and a pillow and slowly made my way out the door of my room. Without a second thought I paced over to the last person I'd thought I'd go and see.

Slowly opening the door to River's room I poked my head inside and found him fast asleep. I slipped in and made my way over to his couch that was across from his bed. I softly whispered,
"I hope you don't mind me sleeping here I had a bad dream and I couldn't fall back to sleep. Anyways night River!" It was a stupid idea but I was scared. I put my pillow down and wrapped the blanket around my shaking body. By I think 3 I finally fell asleep again.

I woke up the next morning with the feeling of weight on my waist. I felt the warmth of someone behind me and their slow soft breath hitting my neck. I freaked out. I tried escaping but the person behind me held on tighter and I was pressed even closer to them.

I took slow deep breath and with a hesitant sigh I looked over to see who it was. As I came face to face with them my mouth dropped. Uh oh what did I do? What happened last night? I thought trying to remember what happened and how I ended up in Rivers room.

Memories of last night came flooding back. The movie, the nightmares, Rivers room, sleeping on his couch. But how did he end sleeping beside me? Shaking those thoughts away, I turned my head away from Rivers closed eyes and pouted as I thought of a way to escaped.

I grabbed the pillow that probably fell during the night onto the ground and ever so slowly I carefully lifted River's arm and slid out and replaced my body with the pillow. I carefully stood up and sigh in relief. Slowly turning around I made my move to walk out of his room before he woke up. Before I could take one step towards the direction of the door a hand grabbed me by the waist and pulled me back down on the couch.

My head came in contact with Rivers chest and I let out a small squeal. The feeling of his chest vibrating from his laughter wasn't helping my case. His grip on my waist was still firm. There was no way I would be getting out of this anytime soon. I kept my forehead on his chest so I wouldn't have look up at him.

His laugh died down and he went quiet. Without looking up I knew he was looking down at me.
"Riley?" He whispered in my ear. I didn't respond, just dug my head deeper in his chest. He chuckled.

"Riley look at me." He said now sounding serious. I shook my head. In one swift move he put his fingers under my chin and lifted my head up. His blue orbs came in contact with mine. His expression was serious which scared me a little.

"Now tell me, why were you in my room sleeping on my couch at three in the morning?" He whispered dangerously. His face was to close for liking and without a second thought I jumped up from the couch out of Rivers touch. "Now tell me why I woke up beside you, you....you little bum nugget!" I shut my mouth before I could ramble on even more. River layed there dumbfounded.

"I mean River, not bum nugget that's really rude I didn't mean to call you that it just came out please don't get mad it was an honest mistake please don't get ma-" before I could finish my never ending word vomit River stood up and looked me strait in the eyes. I gulped. He was so much taller then me that it scared me a bit. More like a lot.

"What did you call me?" He said in dangerously scary voice, again. Oh fiddle sticks! I mentally face palm myself. He was gonna kill me them eat me. There's no discussion there.
"Um.. Well you see... Bye!" And before he could do anything that would end with death and eating me I booked it out of his room to my room.

I closed my room door and placed my back against it. Leaning my head back I let out a breath I didn't even know I was holding. Closing my eyes all I could think of was,

I'm so dead.

HEYYY CUTIES!!

Sorry that it's a late update but I was to busy watching the amas to do anything. I was waiting for my love to preform. Aka Justin bieber. He was spectacular to be honest. But I would be lying because spectacular is an understatement.

You guys literally have no clue what this boy does to me. He amazes me everytime. Shoutout to Justin even tho he probably doesn't have wattpad but whatever.

Back to the update. Yess, I hope you guys enjoyed this chapter. It isn't my best work but I'm sure the next chapter is gunna be great. Now Im off to bed and I'll see you and your wonderful uniqueness in 2 weeks.
