I woke up to the sound of my alarm going off. Hitting the off button, I rolled out of bed and slugged my way towards my bathroom to get ready. Today was my interview at the local diner and I was beyond nervous yet super excited. But not only that, tonight was my date with Colten which had my stomach in knots. But at that moment I had to focus on my interview. I took a quick shower and did the rest of my morning routine. Walking back into my room and went into my closet and looked for an outfit that was presentable enough for the interview. I finally decided on a pair of black jeans and a white blouse. As I was zipping up the zipper on my jeans, my phone started ringing.

"Hello?" I answered.

"Hey Birdie" River replies on the other end.

"Yo, what's up best friend!" I laugh jokingly.

"Yea yea, calm down there." He says with a chuckle.

"So, what's up?" I ask.

"I was wondering if you were down to do something today?"

"I would love to but I have an interview in an hour. Hey! As my best friend, you wanna drive me to my interview." I ask innocently.

"Damn Birdie, are you using my friendship for rides?" he asks in a serious voice.
"You can't see me, but I'm pouting and batting my eyelashes in hopes you'll say yes." I hear him laugh out loud on the other end.

"Sooo, is that a yes?"

"Yeah sure. You're lucky I actually like you." My heart skipped a beat but quickly composed myself and reply.

"Okay yay! Thank you so much! You can come over whenever."                 "Okay Birdie," he chuckles, "I'll be there in a few."

"Okay see ya!" I hang up and go into my bathroom to finish getting ready. I put on a little bit of mascara and some lip gloss and put my contacts in instead of wearing my glasses. I was putting on some perfume when I heard the horn of a car signaling that River was parked in my driveway. Heading downstairs I grabbed a small bag and put my shoes on. heading out the door, I locked it and happily made my way towards the passenger side of Rivers car. Hopping in the seat, I shut the door and looked over at River.

"What?" I ask him as my smile drops. River was just staring at me wide eye. "I-is there something on my face or in my teeth," I say nervously, raising my hand to open the mini mirror. He was quick to grab my wrist to stop me. He cleared his throat.

"No, you look...different." he finishes.

"Umm... okay... thanks? I think." I say a bit confused.

"Oh god no, that's not what I meant," he sighs, "you're not wearing your glasses and you're wearing makeup. You don't look like the Birdie I know." I smile at that. "You look good though," he says finally as he puts the car in reverse.

"Thanks." I smile.

"So you ready for your interview?" He says changing the subject.

"Umm, I'm a little nervous. What if they don't like me. Oh, shoot! What if I'm wearing the wrong outfit. Damn, I should have worn a blazer. Stupid! Oh my god! River we need to go back, I can't do this." I say rambling on.

"Birdie," he chuckles, "It's gunna be alright. You'll do great and plus your outfit is fine for this interview. " I sigh.

"You sure? I mean, don't you think the blazer would finish it off?"

"I think you're fine without it, Birdie."

"Okay, you're right," I say sending him a smile. "Oh, it's just up here." He pulled to the side of the road right in front of the diner.
