{Riley's P. O. V.}
Today was one of those days. You know the ones where you could stay in sweats and a grossly stained t-shirt because you're not going out or there's no one home. Those days where you could just pig out on junk food and watch sappy RomComs. Those days where you could just feel like a couch potato because no one was there to judge you. Well that my friend is what today felt like for me.
Ben was over at friends for a sleepover play date today, mom was you know still in the hospital doing more tests so I had the house all to myself. As for Scarlett, well I didn't have to watch her today since they were going to see some family up in Kingston. Today was just a day to myself.
I had woken up late this morning for the first time in years. I usually woke up before my mom did to make her breakfast so that when she is awake she can eat. And she usually was up at 6:30, so imagine having to get up at 5 o'clock every morning. I never really could go back to sleep after that.
I walked into the kitchen to make myself something to eat. I grabbed some oatmeal and milk and got that ready. While it was warming up in the microwave I took out my phone and checked the time, 11:15. Setting my phone down as I heard the beep I took out my oatmeal and sat down at the kitchen table. Not even 5 minutes later my phone chimed signalling I had a text.
Putting my bowl in the sink and licking off my fingers, I wiped them and grabbed my phone. It was a texted from Isabella.
Izzy: Heyo chicka!! Movie marathon?
Me: Heyy and yep! I'm down for it!
Izzy: Kay be there in ten!
Me: Sounds good! See you soon!
Izzy: See you!
I shut my phone off and looked down at my outfit, which consisted of cut off fabric shorts and a big baggy top that hung off my shoulder. I shrugged. Eh no one will see me this way except for Isabella but she doesn't care. I walked over to the couch and plopped down on it. I opened the tv while waiting for Izzy.
She arrived exactly ten minutes later. Opening the door for her resulted in a red face Isabella and the happy positive vibes that she always brought upon entering my house. I giggled looking at the state she was currently in.
"You look like you just ran a marathon!" I giggled some more.
"Actually I just had a huge dance party in the car and I'm out of breath." She laughed. I laughed along with her."So what's up?" She said entering the house and removing her shoes. I looked around and shrugged.
"Nothing really." She shook her head in disapproval. "Hun you need to do more cool things. Why don't we go to the mall?" It was my turn to shake my head but vigorously. After what happened the last time I took a trip to the mall, there's no way I'll be stepping foot in there for a while."Ohhhkayyy... How about we go to 'Books, Books and more Books'? We can grab a coffee and sit down and talk for a bit and then come back here and watch movies! I forgot to tell you I can't spend the night because tomorrow I work from 11:00 to 3:00 and then I have this stupid dinner I have to attend with the fam. So you know yea. What do you say about that coffee though?" She said in one big breath. I laughed at her.
"Sure, I have to tell you a few things. And plus I haven't talked to you in ages." I say smiling. "Alright,well go change into something cute and then we'll go." She said shoving me towards the stairs. I shook my head and climb the stairs to my room to change.

"Woah woah woah! So wait, let me get this right. While you were watching Benji, Colten came over," I nodded my head "then you spend the rest of the day with him and as you go to put Benji to sleep you hear a huge thud coming from your moms room. She's rushed to the hospital where she's in a coma and you talk with Colten as he comforts you and you told him the story of your life, one of your biggest secrets," I shook my head once again, " then he offers you a place to stay if you feel lonely, he helps you come up with ideas for a job, he comforts you, what else does this guy do!" She said throwing her hands in the air. I shrugged taking a sip of my mint hot chocolate.
