{Riley's P. O. V.}
I brought the light up to the side of the house, I gasped at what I saw.....
"Oh. My. God." I say slowly in shock. "Riley, h-help me." He grunted. I didn't know what I could possibly do. The blood was making me feel nauseous. There was a huge gash on his forehead, blood oozing out. He had a busted lip and his nose didn't look broken but there was a lot of blood still coming out. His face was covered with blood and bruised all the way down to his neck and his hands and arms.
I noticed the big puddle of blood was coming from his side. Pulling his shirt up there was a deep cut in which blood was gushing out like a wildfire where someone had stabbed him. I gasped at this. He was hurting, even though he was refusing to show me. I needed to help him. I needed to help him fast.
"I'm calling 911!" I said unlocking my phone. "No!" He tried to say strongly but failed because he winced back in pain. "I need y-you to help m-me." I didn't exactly know what he meant by that but I nodded my head and tried my best to pick him up. He stood up barely keeping his balance. I put his arm around my shoulder and he leaned against me. His weight was on me now and it was quite difficult to bring him inside the house.
I finally got him inside and up inside my room onto my bed. He laid there eyes closed grunting. I went into the bathroom and grabbed the first aid kit. I came back into my room and laid the box on the ground as I looked back at River. Without thinking I said,
"Take off ur shirt." While I got some disinfectant wipes, alcohol, gauze, and tape. He looked at me confused. "Take it off, I need to fix that wound on your side," I ordered. He obeyed before taking off his shirt with a little help from me. It was hard to not stare at his six pack but I mean come on it was so nice to look at. Focus Riley!
"Like what you see." He said amusement laced with pain in his voice. I blushed before turning away and pouring some alcohol onto the wipes and turning back to River. "Ready?" I asked a bit nervously. He closed his eyes and nodded. I started to wipe the blood off his gushing wound. He hissed in pain and grabbed my arm before squeezing it. Hard as a matter-of-factly. With my free hand, I grabbed his hand that was cutting my arms blood flow and gave it a tight squeeze.
"Your gonna be fine don't worry," I say still wiping his wound while holding his hand and him hissing in pain. He responded with another hiss. I finally wrapped his wound with gauze. I picked up his ripped bloody shirt.
"I'll find you another shirt," I say to him while throwing his shirt in the trash can. He nodded without a word. I sat back down beside the bed and started to fix up his beat-up face. I poured a little bit more alcohol on another wipe and began.
I dabbed; he hissed
I double dabbed; he double hissedHe was in so much pain. I was in such a concentrated state that I didn't notice River staring up at me. I glanced down at him. Meeting his lifeless blue eyes I could see emotion after emotion fly by his eyes. But they came so fast the only ones I could get before he went back to pain was hurt, betrayal, tired, anger and confusion. I smiled down at him.
"Are you okay?" I asked him. "And I want to know the truth." He closed his eyes and shook his head no. I gave him a nod. "Well once I'm done here, I'm gonna give you some medicine and your gonna sleep here for tonight. Not buts." I say in a motherly tone. He let out a soft raspy laughed and then winced but nodded his head.
I finished up his face putting on some polysporine on his busted lip and the giant cut on his forehead. I then placed a band-aid on both. I put everything back in the first aid kit and got up. "I'll go find you a shirt. Okay?" I said.
"It's okay I'll just sleep like this tonight." I shook my head. "Alright, I'll get the medicine and water and be right back." I smiled at him one last time before leaving the room. I put the first aid kit back into the bathroom and ran down to the kitchen to grab water and the pill.
Getting back into the room, I gave River the water and pill and he slightly sat up to take it. He put the water on the table and laid back down. "Well, I'll be right downstairs if you need anything. Just shout." I tell him scratching my wrist, usually when I'm nervous. "No! Sta-" he didn't get to finish the rest of his sentence before he fell asleep. I gave a small smile and shut the light.
"Night River," I say before shutting the door behind me.
I walked back downstairs and plopped myself on the couch. So many things were crossing my mind at what went down tonight. What happened to River? Why was he all beat up? Did someone hurt him? How did he end up at my place? All these questions running through my mind that were yet to be answered. Adrenaline was still pumping through my veins and my heart was ecstatic. I couldn't concentrate on the show that was cast on the tv because of tonight's events still fresh and replaying over and over again in my head. The last thing I told myself before I drifted off to sleep was...
I'm going to get answers, even if it's the hard way.

I woke up to the smell of chocolate chip pancakes. Rubbing my eyes I took In my surroundings. I was on my couch in my clothes from yesterday which consisted of the cut-off shorts and off the shoulder baggy top. A blanket was sprawled out on me and my hair probably looked like a mess.
Getting up, I stretched out my sore limbs and grabbed my glasses off of the table shoving them in my face. Scratching my head I turned around and headed to the kitchen. I walked in and saw a tall shirtless River flipping pancakes. I gasped before turning around. But luck wasn't on my side this morning and I ran right into the wall. This resulted in me landing on my butt while rubbing my nose.
"Ouch," I said. Everything was quiet until River broke out into laughter. I crossed my arms and pouted. "It's not funny!"
"No your right," he said still laughing, "It was hilarious!" He said laughing even harder. I glared daggers at the wall as if River were there. His laughter died down and he came towards me. He put out his hand in front of me. I looked at his hand then at him. Sighing I grabbed his hand and he pulled me up to my feet.
"Thanks," I said scratching my wrist again. He smiled down at me before turning around to get back to cooking. I walked over to the island and took a seat on the first chair.
"Umm so! How are you?" I asked my nerves rising even more. He shrugged but didn't respond. "River you ne-"
"I don't have to tell you anything!" He says cutting me off. "But-" I try.
"Riley do you really want to know what happened to me last night?" He asked turning off the stove and turning around to face me with the plate of pancakes in his hands. I nodded slowly. He walked around the side of the island and stopped right in front of me. Smirking he leaned in close so that we were face to face "I was jumped." He said."By who?" I asked him wanting to know more. "No one that concerns you." With that, he stood up straight grabbed the plate of pancakes and placed it on the table. He took a seat at the kitchen table and looked at my dumbfounded state before saying,
"Let's eat, yea?"
