Making my way up to her room, I glanced around again. It was just how it was before she showed up. The bed was made, and a bottle of water standing on the side table. Dropping myself onto the bed, I took a swg of the water and nearly spit it out. What the hell?! Swishing the water in my mouth, I finally placed the wierd taste.

Dice had been drugged.

Though I couldn't tell what drug it was, I knew that there was no way water could become flat overnight. So maybe Ciel wasn't playing by the rules afterall. I must have been thinking too highly of him.

Then it hit me- he can get in the house. He obviously had, considering Dice just bought this water bottle a few days ago. If he could get in, who knows what else he could've been doing? Watching her? Going through her stuff? I refused to think any further of what he could've done to Dice because it was making me nauseous. I spat the water onto the ground where it soaked into the carpet.

So, what the hell was I going to do?

"And that's what happened."

I finished off my story and took a long sip of my tea, even though it was burning hot, searing the roof of my mouth. Ciel took all of this in, and silently sipped his tea. It was around noon now, and Ciel has already invited me to stay with him.

After a few momentss of silence, he nodded and grinned. "So, now what?"

I set my mug down on the table, and clasped my hands together.

"I was actually wondering if I could borrow your car- to visit someone."

~*~

I rapped on the door and anticipated its opening. I haven't been here in a while. It's pretty nostalgic. I heard the locks tumbling and saw a weary familiar face answer.

"Oh, Dice dear. So you've finally come to visit me, eh? Well come on in darling."

Hayden's mom, Sylvia, gestured me in and I saw that all of the decor had changed. The light green walls I grew up with were now a modern brown, and family photos that once covered the walls were replaced with art pieces.

A part of me was disappointed, but if this was how she was coping- so be it. We sat down on a leather sofa covered with patterened pillows and decorative throw blankets. I saw she was getting more sleep than when I last saw her, and the coffee table had a fruit basket I'm sure someone gifted to her for her loss on it, so I assumed people where bringing her food to eat.

"Oh, before I forget, here."

I handed her a plastic container filled with ramen I prepared at Ciel's before I left. I figured she could just heat it up for dinner instead of having to cook for herself.

"Dice, you really are a sweetheart. Here, come with me and I'll go ahead and put it in the fridge."

I gladly followed her and saw that though the house wasn't what I remembered, it looked good. That's when Henry ran in. I hadn't seen Henry in ages- he was Hayden's half brother. The poor boy only got to know Hayden for a few short years- I truly felt bad for him. At the moment he looked extremely distressed, and was desperately pulling at Sylvia's leg.

"What is it baby? What's wrong?"

Tears slowly dripped down his cheeks as he looked up at us.

"Mommy, Lily's doing it again!"

Lily? She still lived here? I knew she moved in when her and Hayden got really serious about their relationship, but I figured she had left after he died. I guess not.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~***~*~*~*~*~

Hayden's hands encircled my waist and I snuggled my head onto his shoulder.

"It's been forever since we've danced like this baby."

I whisper, those words for just us to know.

"I know Lily, I know."

We danced in silence for a moment, until Hayden whispered with his sweet breath in my ear,

"Lily, I love you."

I kissed his neck softly, and replied, "I love you too."

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Now I understand. Henry led us back to Hayden's old bedroom, where I saw nothing had been changed. It still had it's lonely wrought iron theme. In the middle of the room, I saw Lily, her beautiful golden hair now reduced to a pale, washed out platnium, dancing around the room with a partner only she could see, whispering. I had to look down- the scene was too pitiful for me. Sylvia covered her mouth with her hand, and whispered 'not again.' How many time has she done this? How many times has she slowly danced with her dead true love around this empty room?

I fought the urge to vomit. Finally, Sylvia reached for the door handle and silently closed the door. Henry was in full tears by that time and was sobbing silently. Sylvia glanced at me and threw me her best smile.

"It's best just to leave her alone with this happens dear."

So much pain behind those words. I bit my tongue and nodded, though I wasn't sure I should just leave her in there to dance her danse macabre, but what could I do?

Nothing.

I couldn't do anything then and I can't do anything now. That's just reality.

"Well, it was a real pleasure to see you again Dice. Don't be a stranger sweetheart, come visit anytime!"

Sylvia said all of this as I was waving, settling myself into the car. I ultimately feel better after seeing them all again, though the details of the trip weren't as great. Sighing, I pulled out oof the driveway, and drove back to Ciel's. I noticed as I got out of the car that Jayy was smoking a cigarrette on the front porch. I avoided his eyes as I scurried into Ciel's, fastening all of the locks behind me.

I will face him sooner or later. But not now.
