Hey!! I never asked; what did you guys think of the last chapter? Did it make you sad? Happy? Angry? o.O I have uploaded the next chapter and I hope you all like it. Like i previously said, for those that already read this story (before i started to re-do it) you'll already know what is coming...or what is eventually going to happen. Anyway, i changed some of it because i thought it was a little too harsh, so i have made it more gentle. I did this because this book has to link to the sequel i am planning on writing and if i want to do that, the sister's cannot be bitches hahaha!

Anyway ENJOY >>>>> COMMENT, VOTE, SHARE

Chapter Twenty-One

“No…” Cyrus couldn’t believe what he saw in front of him. He stopped and watched as Aubrey’s hand fell from Quinn’s face and rested on the floor beside her. His heart ripped open when Quinn leaned on her sister’s chest and began to cry, and attempted to shake her sister from her peaceful rest.

Another car screeched beside Alex’s and Lamia’s cry cursed through his soul. “Aubrey!” Cyrus turned to look as Luka had Armanthia in a tight hug, and Alex was holding Lamia back as she battered against his chest.

He slowly walked towards Aubrey’s still form and collapsed to his knees. As he lifted her body into his arms her head lolled back and he choked on a cry.

Hugging her body close he rocked her backwards and forwards and the tears broke loose. Why was this happening to him? Only today had he pressed his warm lips against hers and now her cold body lay in his warm arms. He pressed his hand against her cheek and leaned in. As soon as his lips kissed hers more tears fell and he could taste her blood; it tasted of sadness. She had died unhappily and he had let her die alone.

“Aubrey….” Cyrus cried. “Please…Please come back to me” He stroked strands of wet hair away from her beautiful still face and kissed her one last time. “Please! Aubrey, please!”

“This is your fault!” Lamia was batting widely at Alex now and Luka had to pry her away from him. He hadn’t even registered that Armanthia had approached, but she didn’t stay long. She took one look at her sister’s dead body and pulled a hysterical Quinn into her arms and held her close, away from Aubrey. “You killed my sister! Bring her back to me…Bring her back…” Lamia sunk to her knees and Alex went with her, still holding her close.

Gwin kneeled down and placed her hand on Cyrus’ back. “She saved my life,” She whispered wiping tears from her eyes. “I don’t care what she is, what any of you are…but to me she was a hero and I’ll never forget that…”

“How touching.” Cyrus and the others turned around to see another vampire. She smelt different so she defiantly didn’t belong to the Master’s city or the Counts. She had a foreign smell to her, and a smell of craving and desire. “No really,” She leaned away from the burnt out car and stalked towards them. Cyrus held Aubrey’s body close, afraid that she would suck her dry. Vampires could feed of anything with human blood, including half vampires. All the brothers were safe but the females were not. Cyrus knew that his brothers were aware of that too as Lamia was pushed behind Alex and Dimitri grabbed Armanthia and Quinn behind him.

Luka had soon joined Cyrus and was looking at Aubrey’s body, frowning.  He looked as if he knew something or was trying to figure something out.

“Who are you?” Julian asked as he stepped in front of Gwin. She was grabbing onto his arm and holding it tightly. “You don’t smell like us…”

“Oh god forbid if I did,” She chuckled. She had long blonde hair and was wearing tight clothes everywhere. Stereotypically, everything was leather. “I know how weak your father is, I have heard all about it…”

“You know nothing!” Alex spat.

Luka held his arms out and with a quick nod; Cyrus passed Aubrey’s body over to him. He looked like he defiantly knew something. Plus, Cyrus knew if it came down to it, he was the only one that could stop the vampire. Mainly because his brothers still had someone to care for, to protect, he had lost his.

“Something smells divine…” She took a deep sniff of the air and closed her eyes before exhaling. “Mmm, what is that smell?”

Cyrus stood in front of Aubrey’s body and gave the best warning face he could. But considering the love of his life lay dead behind him he was having trouble even standing. Although, somewhere deep down he was feeling something, as if something was coming back. He looked over his shoulder and Luka was beginning CPR. He didn’t know why he was even trying. She was dead and it was a pointless waste.

“Oh I don’t want that dead weight!” The woman chuckled again. She pointed her perfectly manicured nail straight forward. Cyrus turned and noticed her finger was pointing a Gwin. She had a huge gash on her head and she reached up to cover her hand over it. “I want that one!” She purred.

“You touch her and I’ll snap your head clean off your shoulders pup.” Julian barked.

She raised an eyebrow and wagged her finger, clucking her tongue as she did. “Meow granddad, you should really think about how you talk to me. I always get what I want…”

Before any of them could even react, she ran towards Julian, knocked him flying, and grabbed Gwin straight out of the air. Cyrus looked at his brother but Julian was already on his feet. He knew that Julian would do something stupid so he grabbed his arm and held him back. “Get off me!” Julian screamed.

“No!” Cyrus bellowed back. “If I let you go, she’ll kill her there and then!”

The woman was chuckling to herself as she began to stroke Gwin’s hair that was matted and sweaty. The fear that emanated from Gwin’s body was overpowering, and Lamia leaned over clutching her head. She could feel everyone’s emotion; that was her gift.  All vampires could sense fear but those that had the gift to feel emotions could feel everything. Normally, they would have control but considering Lamia was even feeling Cyrus’ loss, it was truly remarkable her own heart was still beating.

“Why do you smell so good?” The woman whispered it, but they could all hear. “Keep that dog away from me young Prince, or I will kill her.”

“Cyrus…?” Luka whispered. He was on his right side now. Cyrus couldn’t even look back, he feared if he let go of Julian it was game over and Gwin would die. “You need to see this…”

“Not right now…” He hissed.

Julian was tensing. He turned to look and he saw the woman’s fangs extend. She must have been fairly old as her teeth appeared chipped and she looked old fashioned; she knew what she was doing and she was a lot faster than any of them. The only thing that Cyrus couldn’t piece together was why she was still part human. “Just one little taste…”

The woman’s fangs sunk down deep and Gwin and Lamia screamed at the same time. Whatever Gwin was feeling at that moment it must have been intensely painful for Lamia to feel it.  “No!” Julian was screaming now too, and Cyrus had to wrap both arms around him. There was something that wasn’t right about her. He knew if any of them approached her, they would die instantly.

Suddenly, a black and white blur flashed between Cyrus and Julian and they both fell to the floor. There was a loud hissing noise, and Cyrus turned to look. His mouth dropped wide open as Aubrey had Gwin behind her and she was facing the vampire head on.
