Chapter Five
Aubrey had been searching for Gwin since the morning classes had begun. Quinn had said that she, and two of Gwin’s close friends, was going on a trip for two days. That only could mean Gwin was somewhere around the school alone and vulnerable. She had promised Quinn that she would look out for her in case the brute Mark returned for more.
Anger rose up Aubrey’s spine as she saw Gwin being pushed up against the lockers. Of course it was Mark; he had one hand up her black dress and another around her neck bone.
She stood and looked around at the young girls laughing and the boys that walked past her acted as if she didn’t exist; All but three. Three she knew all too well.
Julian, Cyrus and Luka were all hanging around the lockers in the left wing, but had full view of Gwin being pushed violent against the locker. Cyrus was trying to talk to Luka, not that he was interested; the herd of girls around him was more appealing. Julian, however, had no excuse; he was watching the entire thing.
Well, she wasn’t going to stand by; Aubrey hadn’t picked up that trait from her father. She was like her mother, brave and protective. She didn’t care if she didn’t know Gwin well, Quinn liked her and that was good enough.
She marched towards the boys, feeling fury bursting up inside her and the pure adrenaline taking hold of her body. As she approached she heard the boy laughing while doing something he defiantly shouldn’t. He was reaching his hand up higher in her dress and by the look on her mortified face, she didn’t want him too.
Aubrey grabbed his sneaky hand and spun him around smacking his face and body square flat against the locker. Gwin yelped and moved away, picking up her rucksack. She reached into it and poured out three tablets, and downed them without water.
“You alright?” Aubrey asked. She could stand here all day if she needed, Mark was trying to wriggle out of her hold, but she knew he wasn’t going anywhere.
She nodded and breathed heavily, leaning against the locker; those must have been killer pills. Mark began to hiss as she held his arm behind his back, placing her other hand firmly against his head. He tried to move again but her strength was greater than his. She turned back towards Gwin and noticed the others trying to approach her. “Hey!” Aubrey called. They looked up, suddenly panicked that she’d caught them. “You touch her and I’ll break your fingers off!” They retreated.
As Aubrey had suspected, most of the boys had turned to look now. They marveled at the fact a skinny and beautiful girl had a strong and ugly brute pinned up against a locker, squirming under her grip.
“Now,” She purred to him, pouting her lips. “What am I going to do with you?”
“Please,” He begged. “I didn’t do anything to her; I mean she asked for it. She was practically gagging for it.” She slammed his head against the locker, he whimpered.
“Shut up you vile little boy,” she twisted his arm tighter and he nodded. “You already met my sister Lamia I believe…She threatened you yesterday. Was the message not clear enough?”
It was clear by his face he remembered her, he squirmed under her grip more and whimpered as if Aubrey was going to call Lamia from around the corner. “She said if I touched her sister, that ain’t her sister.”
“I said shut up!” She twisted it harder and he fell to the floor, clutching his wrist. “Gwin is Quinn’s friend, which makes her a friend of mine and I don’t share very well with others.” She walked towards him, every step she enhanced he crawled backwards away from her. She slammed her foot down in between his legs, right where boys hurt the most. He cried out as did much of the boy population who were watching. She crouched down and grabbed his shirt with her hands and pulled him close to her face. “So you touch her one more time, and I will make sure you will never pleasure a woman again. Are we clear?”
