Apocalypse

Chapter 6

Sorry there's so much dialogue in this chapter :(

After collecting a food pack and filling a bag with essentials I decide to set off for whatever journey I have ahead.
The first idea that comes into my head is to go to the school, it is emptied by now and most likely safe.

I open the doors as quietly as I can so as not to alert anyone still here and step slowly onto the marble floor.
I explore the wreckage, opening cupboards and moving debris to find ANY reason to why this has happened, then I hear a loud sob followed by lots more quieter ones coming from the canteen.

"Hello?" I whisper "anyone there?"
The sobbing continues, It seems closer and I can tell where it's coming from in the canteen.

In the corner, two figures are sat next to each other one is curled up sobbing into her hands, the other looks as if he is attempting and failing to comfort her, I think it might be Ciara and Daniel...

"Ciara?! Daniel?!" I ask running towards them "Ciara? How are you like that but not, you know?"

"I'm not sure." Cries Ciara "I-I think its because of my intelligence, my brain is to advanced for the technology to affect me mentally."

"Why is Daniel here?" I ask scowling

"Am I not allowed to be friendly?" He asks narrowing his eyes "Or is that only you, goody two shoes?"

"Shut up you two!" Shouts Ciara "JUST shut up."
