Kora's POV
As soon as the witches understood the situation with Carlos we were off to see the wizard.
Or my dad.
Whichever you prefer.
6 people, a very heated argument and 4 long hours later, my father finally agreed to have the pack help the witches. We didn't exactly know when Carlos and his army of misfit toys were planing on attacking, so we called a pack meeting and rallied whoever was willing to help us as soon as my father finally made the decision to help. We had explained to him that the Byron were the same people that had taken Damon and I before and he instantly understood our involve with the witches.
After everything, my final argument to persuade my dad to help us was that I was going to help the witches either way. With, or without his help. I was just thankful that didn't have to be my sole argument.
So now, we made it back to the witches village. We had gathered about 50 men from our pack that willingly agreed to help, plus my father, Damon and my mom, but my father said she wasn't allowed to fight. She was told she had to stay in the main house with the other women and children in the village, but we all knew that wasn't going to stop her.
My mom could find her way out of a concrete bunker with a plastic fork if she needed to. Let alone sneak out of a house to help us kick some-
"Kora.." Damon impatiently tapped his foot, snatching me out of my thoughts.
"Sorry. What?"
"I was talking about this afternoon. Dad said if Carlos was going to attack soon, that it would probably be this afternoon. Do you think he's right?" Damon asked, catching me off guard. Damon never asked questions. He was always sure of himself, always being the one to answer everyone's doubts with brave answers.
"I don't know. I think Carlos' bark is worse than his bite. Besides, we're prepared for anything the Byron could throw at us. We've got shifters and witches on our side. All they've got is a bunch of overgrown jocks who don't know which end of a knife to hold."
We didn't say anything after that as we continued to walk deeper into the woods, hoping to get away from humanity for a little while. Damon and I have been so on edge lately we decided to go for a quick run once everything started to settle down in the village.
I was hoping to be able to practice one of my forms again before this while thing got messy too. The only people who know about my powers right now are Damon, the witches and Matthew, but I guess Matthews out of the picture since he had taken the step to kidnap my mate for Carlos.
Sean and I have been starting to grow a little closer with all this around us surprisingly. We ate together at meals out in the yard behind the witches house and often walked through the village together, making sure everything was running smoothly.
He really wasn't that bad of a guy. He still hasn't told me about all his secrets he keeps to himself, but I guess it serves me right since my own mate still doesn't know about my powers. In my defense I've tried to tell him, multiple times, but every time I start to something happens to keep me from being able to say what I was trying to.
Maybe that's just fates sense of humor. He's bound to find out eventually, I guess. Just hopefully not soon. I don't think I'm ready to be looked at differently by him or my parents or even my pack. I just feel like things will change if they know about my other forms.
"Ok," Damon sighed, stopping. "I think this is far enough. I don't want to get too far out in case Carlos has men out patrolling the woods." He said and I nodded. I guess that was smart.
