Kora's POV
"Of course I'll come with you, Sean." I placed my hand on his, wet with tears. "I would follow you to the ends of the earth and back. Just, before we leave, I have to make sure my pack will be alright. With Damon gone now, I don't know how the pack will be run and I can't leave my people defenseless if they need me. Let me talk to my parents before we go?"
"Of course, anything. We can leave whenever you're ready." He placed his hand on top of mine that was still on his cheek and brought his face close to mine so that our foreheads leaned against each others. "Kora, thank you."
"For what?"
"Being my mate." He gave a soft smile before he pressed his lips to mine, moving his hands to cup my face. It was a gentle kiss. A kiss that poured all of his love and kindness and humility out into the open for me to take hold of and hold onto forever. As we pulled away there was a knock on the door and Sean called them in. Aakansha slowly opened the door and smiled at us, looking satisfied.
"So you finally told her?" She laughed, putting her hands on her hips as she leaned against the door frame.
"She knew?" I asked, laughing at Sean's terrified smile as he shrugged his shoulders.
"No, but she's intimidating and she bullied me." He said scowling at her.
"Ok, enough with the love bird act. We've got work to do now that you're finally awake!" Aakansha clapped her hands and walked back out into the hallway to who knows where. Sean just chuckled at her as he took my hand and helped me out of bed. As soon as I stood the blankets covering me fell and I realized it when in nothing but my underwear. Sean gave me a once over and shot me a cocky smirk before he turned around and went into my closet, pulling out some shorts and a t-shirt, covering his eyes for my sake before I yelled at him as he handed me the clothes.
I snatched them and ran into the bathroom, closing the door behind me and taking a look in the mirror for he first time since the battle.
Great. I looked like this while Sean poured out his heart and life story to me? Fantastic.
Heavy sarcasm.
I pulled the clean clothes on, running a brush through my hair and brushed my teeth before I stepped back into the now empty bedroom.
I sighed, moving to sit on the bed, rubbing my sore muscles in my legs and shoulders.
What if I couldn't do this? Moving to a brand new pack, on brand new territory.. Sean's pack may not like me, or I could put them in even more danger by going there. Michael could follow us or attack us on the way there. It wasn't safe and I would feel beyond terrible if his pack got attacked just because of me.
I wanted to meet them all and learn where Sean came from, but the nerves surpassed all the hopes I had at the moment. I stood, facing towards the door and trying to build up the courage to face Sean and tell him I was ready to meet his pack, but I couldn't.
'What if they don't like me?' I tried to talk myself out of going, but my wolf wouldn't have it.
'What if the sun falls out of the sky tomorrow and kills us all anyway? You're going and they will love you. You're their Luna, they've got to love you. Now go.'
--
We ran for hours.
It felt like heaven to let my wolf stretch her muscles since we had been cooped up for so long after the fight. I soaked in the feeling of the crisp October air in my lungs as Sean ran next to me in his wolf form as well, carrying the pack that held all of my clothes that I would need on his back.
