Kora's POV
"Witches?" Damon asked as Matthew led us down the hallway. As we got towards the end of the hall we met a large staircase leading to the first floor of the large mansion. Matthew handed me and my brother each a large gun while he looked at me.
"Can you use it?" Matthew asked me with a smirk clear on his face.
"Let's go." I smirked and cocked the gun, ready to get back to my pack.
"Alright. Be careful once we go outside. It's worse than you think, trust me." He said, leading us down the stairs and out the front door, into the large yard surrounding the mansion. As the door opened, I gasped. Matthew was right, it was a lot worse than I thought. Not only were there his people out in the yard that kidnapped us, but.. witches. There were at least 100 people fighting in the yard, spilling each other's blood, staining the green grass crimson. The woods that almost completely surrounded the mansion was filled with men and witches fighting as well, making the entire place a bloody battlefield.
"Come on." Matthew said, pointing towards a black hummer, across the field sitting on a long gravel road that led away from the war zone. As we were about to follow him, Matthew looked behind me and yelled quickly for me to watch out.
Instantly, I felt a rough hand grab my shoulder as the attacker pressed his gun into my back. On instinct, I dropped my gun, freeing my hands as I grasped the man's large hand on my shoulder and twisted it behind his back, making him drop his gun. I quickly caught it and pressed it to the mans back, shooting him and stopping his heart as he fell to the ground. As I took a shaky breath I looked up at Matthew and Damon as they starred at me, looking at me in disbelief.
"We need to go." Damon said, coming back to realization, looking around at all the fighting people. He grabbed my wrist and practically pulled me with him when I wouldn't budge.
"Damon, we can't just leave these witches. They helped us." I said, tugging against his hold.
"No, we need to get back to the pack." He argued, stepping closer as my stubborn brother put his foot down.
"I'm not leaving these people." I said, stepping back away from him.
"Kora, now. I'm not leaving without you, and I'm not going back to the pack with a dead sister!" He said, aggravated. I just shook my head and stepped back once more.
"I'm not leaving these people." I repeated calmly. I looked over to Matthew as he nodded a thanks to me. I knew he was staying no matter what my brother and I did. Damon just sighed and shook his head, making me look back at him.
After a quick moment and a deep sigh, he cocked his gun and stepped towards me. "Let's do this thing." he said as I smiled with him, turning to find my first victim.
My eyes landed on a girl around my age that was fighting a large male, but was loosing badly. In a flash, I ran over to her and shot the man in the back, making him fall to the ground. I looked down at the girl as I took her hand and helped her to her feet.
