Sitting on the hay, alone wasn’t as bad as I thought it was going to be. Sure I was in a random place I had no idea existed but it gave me some time with my thoughts. Why was I so cool with what was going on? Why did I trust some dude I met the day before? What was wrong with me? I was losing control of myself and he was taking over. Why did I feel so comfortable with him? He must have been something super natural. I know he kept telling me he was a vampire and all but I didn’t want to believe it. But then again, how could I not? He kept showing signs of his unnatural powers and then the thing happened to me like he said it would. It all confused me.
By the time he was back, I had made up my mind to force myself not to let him take control of me. I didn’t want to fall prey to any pranks.
He was back pretty quick, I’d say. I don’t think he was even gone less than 5 minutes. When he came back, he stood in front of me with his hand extended to me. I was so prepared to turn him down and just walk away but when I saw him, I stopped thinking and all my worries fell away. It was just him and me. His perfect ocean blue eyes, sculpted, pale face, his shiny brown hair, his adorable dimple, his caring and loving personality were all a part of him and I knew I could trust him. My heart told me to and I knew I was starting to fall for the boy even though he may be lying about everything he had ever said.
“Was it that bad?” he asked and walked beside me to the car. I smiled up at him.
“I guess not.” I replied and smiled again. I heard his breathe in sharply before he smiled down at me.
“Your smile will always get to me.” He said and opened the car door for me. I quickly sat down so he wouldn’t see my blush. He got into the other side and turned on the car. A huge crack of thunder ripped through the sky and slowly rain drops fell.
“So, now, what did you want to know?” he asked as he pulled away from the barn. It was raining harder and harder.
“What happened back there? Why did I explode light? Do I need to go to a doctor?” I asked. Ashton let out a booming laughter.
“’Explode light’ that’s a good one!” he said and wiped his eyes “You didn’t explode light. It was more of a force field. It is one of your powers. It will literally send people flying. Oh, and no, no doctor. They will think you are insane and lock you up in the loony bin and we don’t want that.”
“Then, what if it happens to me again and you’re not there?” I asked.
“Good point. Here, take my cell phone and put in your number.” He said and handed me his iPhone 4. I was a little surprised by the expensive phone but said nothing and did as I was told.
“Now, text yourself and you’ll have my number.” He smiled at his logic.
“How about you tell me your number and I’ll put it in my phone right now and not waste money?” I asked and laughed.
“You are never a waste of time but whatever you want.” He said and told me his number and I put it into my tiny, worn out phone. There was a bit of silence and then I spoke up again.
“What other powers will I have?” I asked.
“Hey, now, don’t you want it to be a surprise?” he asked and I shook my head. He rolled his eyes and laughed.
“Well, too bad. You’ll have to wait and see.” He replied with an air of mystery and excitement.
“Why do I have these ‘shockwaves’?” I asked.
“You are the pure blood, you have to defeat the Demon king so you need some sort of advantage.” He said and a shrug. I decided not to believe that but then I questioned myself. Why else would these things be happening to me? I shook the thought from my head.
