You stared in awe as Hiro led you to the palace garden. Yes the garden was always beautiful with the usual care of the gardeners, but Hiro managed to decorate the whole garden without you noticing.

"W-when did you...?" You asked, still in awe. Hiro said nothing, he just gave you his usual smirk.

As he held your hand, you couldn't help but feel flustered and excited at the same time.

"(Y/N), you do know that today is the day we became best friends right?" Hiro asked you. As he said those words, that was when you only remembered that it was today.

You mentally slapped yourself for being forgetful. "Y-yeah." You said.

"And you do remember that this is the place where we first met right?" Hiro asked, but a smile is visible on his face.

You only nodded as the memories started to flood into your head.

-----

"Presenting, the Royal Highness, Princess (Y/N)."

You took a deep breath when you heard your name being called, and tried to calm yourself. Of course, your'e still thirteen at that time, and who hadn't experienced jitters?

You hurriedly fixed your (F/C) gown and tiara and checked if there are any faults on your appearance. None that you could see anyway. You then slowly started walking out the room you came from.

As you walked towards the center of the throne room, you can't help but feel insecure. All eyes were on you as you walked gracefully, but in reality--you were in a nervous wreck.

As you stopped in the middle, you gave the crowd a small smile. The crowd gave you a smile on return, and you felt relieved.

You then started to speak. You had a speech ready, and you just have to announce it to the crowd.

"Fellow residents of (country's name), I, Princess (Y/N), shall now bestow upon you the gift of a lifetime." You paused. "The gift of passion, and love for our country. I promise that in my life as a royal, I shall do my best to make everything right, protect each and every one's rights, and make (country's name), a better place to live. Thank you."

When you finished your speech, everyone clapped their hands. They were proud for having such a righteous princess.

You then gave everyone a smile and went to your position beside your parents.

After a few dancing and greetings, you went out to the palace garden. "It doesn't hurt to get some air, right?" You thought.

You went to the rose bushes near the fountain. It never ceases to amuse you.
The roses. They always seem mystical and magical. They were beautiful, yet at the same time thorny. A perfect example for balance.

"So beautiful..." You muttered.

"Right?"

You gasped, suddenly startled.

"I'm so sorry, your highness! I'm merely agreeing to your statement about the roses."

You turned to see that it was a boy about your age, with black messy hair and sparkling brown eyes that seems to be getting deeper when you stare at them.

"O-oh...I-it's fine. No harm done." You say. You continued to stare at the boy's appearance. He was wearing simple clothes, pertaining that he was not a royal, but nonetheless rich.

(A/N: Imagine him wearing a somewhat simple, yet quality clothes. By the way, it was night when this happened.)

"So, uh...The roses were indeed beautiful, right, your majesty?" He asked.

You nodded, but remembered something, and then faced the boy. You forgot to ask his name.

"Where are my manners, pleased to meet you...?" You motioned him to say his name, which he did.

"Hiro, Hiro Hamada, your highness."

You gave him a smile and shook your head. " No need for such respect, were in the same age anyway, right?" You paused. "You can just call me (Y/N)."

"Uh, okay, (Y/N)."

Boy, you felt your heart flutter for the first time at the mention of your name. It seems that you liked this boy at first meeting.

"Thanks Hiro." You say.

"For what?" He asked.

"For actually respecting my wishes." You replied, smiling.

Unbeknownst to you, Hiro was blushing madly at your remark.

-----

"How could I forget? It was one of the best nights I ever had." You say, looking around the light decorated garden.

Hiro chuckled, then gave a small nervous laugh. He ran his fingers through his hair and put his other hand behind his back.

"I never said this to you but, not only the roses were beautiful at that night."Hiro said.

You stared at him, raising an eyebrow. Showing that you are more confused.

Hiro just smiled. "You are beautiful like the roses, (Y/N)." He said.

This made you blush deep red. You can't help it anyway, you just got praised by the love of your life.

Yes. You finally admitted that you had feelings for Hiro deeper than friendship. Love.

"I wanted to tell you something." He said, then paused.

"I went back to tell you--that--I, I...I love you." He admitted.

Now that took you up in the skies. Who wouldn't be? The love of your life just freaking confessed to you!!

"God, am I dreaming? If I was, can I sleep forever?" You thought.

Blushing deep red, you managed to speak. "R-really?" you asked, but hoping that everything is true.

Hiro smiled then nodded.

"I have always loved you."

Your heart, has been pounding hard against your chest the whole time. But now that Hiro had spilled the beans and confessed to you, your heart is beating crazier than ever.

Wanting to answer him, you pulled Hiro to your face and gave him a kiss--square on the lips. Yes, it is kinda embarrassing to kiss outside the palace, but anyways, you do wanted him to know what your response is. And you did that by kissing him. Hiro responsed to your kiss--obviously--and that made you happier than you were now.

When the two of you let go, you muttered your response to his confession.

"I love you too, Hiro."

And that was loud enough for Hiro to hear and pull you for another kiss. But before that, he said something that made you blush harder.

"That's my Queen."
