Why can't it be me?

You woke up in your lab, much to your surprise, because you never slept in before. So you freshened yourself up by fixing your hair and wiping off the drool on your face.

You even drooled onto some blueprints, much to your dismay, so you decided to walk around the school while there's still no people around.

There's no harm in walking around right? Besides, it's seven in the morning, and classes doesn't start 'till nine. You grabbed your (F/C) hoodie and put it on, completely zipping it.

You got out of your lab and started to look around other people's labs. You even went into the gang's lab, except Fred's because he doesn't have one. Remember, he's the school mascot.

Your feet took you in front of Hiro's lab, which totally took you by surprise, since you weren't exactly thinking of him until now.

You were about to enter his lab when you heard some muffled voices.

"Yeah, yeah...I love you too, (R/G/N)."

You stopped at the voice you heard. It was Hiro. Hearing him say 'I love you' to (R/G/N) made you crack. It broke your heart even more. The pain in your chest never seemed to subside and your knees suddenly felt like jelly.

You held on the door's knob, gripping it hard. Tears were about to come out of your eyes, and you don't seem to have control over your body right now.

"Yeah, bye."

You heard a button being pushed, they are probably talking over the phone, and you just have to overhear the last part of their call. Groaning, you slowly loosen your grip on the knob and let it go, turning back, you heard the door suddenly open, and to your dismay, it was Hiro who popped his head out.

"Hey." He greeted.

You didn't bothered to face him, and returned his greeting. You started to walk away, when you felt someone grab your wrist and pull you back, making you face him.

Hiro stared at you with his brown eyes that you loved from the very beginning, giving off this somewhat sad aura. "W-what? I-I have to f-finish something..." You stammered, mentally cursing yourself at the moment.

Hiro just stared at you, not saying anything. There was a moment of silence between you two, and you decided to break the ice.

"H-hiro, I have to g-go back." You said, still stammering. "Are you feeling okay? Hurt anywhere?" He asked, checking your temperature by putting his hand on your forehead.

You managed to mutter a 'no' and pushed his hand away. "I'm fine." You say, averting your gaze from him. But deep down, inside, you know your'e not okay.

"Okay, seriously, (Y/N), you have been acting like this since I started dating (R/G/N), what's wrong?" He asked, holding your cheeks, making you face him.

"Nothing's wrong..." You trailed off. You shoved his hands away, making him frown. You never intended to make him frown, or make him feel sad, but, now's not exactly the time to be close to him again. Not when your'e hurt because of him.

You started walking away when you felt arms suddenly wrapped around you.

Your heart started beating faster when you realized who is the person hugging you. Blushing, you tried to get out of his hug.

"I'm not letting you go until you tell me what's wrong." Hiro said, rather loud, but no one is around to hear him, except for the two of you.

You didn't bother answering, but you were still trying to get out of his hug. "Look, I know there's something wrong, and it's bothering you so much, tell me the problem and I'll do my best to help you with it. Okay? Your'e my best friend, and I wanted you to be happy." Hiro said, putting his head on your shoulder.

At that very moment, something inside you snapped. You can't control yourself right now, and he's forcing you to tell what is the freaking problem.

"You know what?! Stop making me feel this way, okay?!" You shouted, finally pulling yourself out of his hug. "You can only see me as a friend, but all these years, I've been yearning for someone I can't even get! You!" You snapped, making Hiro's eyes widen in shock.

"W-what??"

"I'm freaking in love with my best friend for years, and I'm too dumb for believing he'll like me back!" You shouted, tears falling from your (E/C) eyes.

"I've been hopelessly waiting for the right time to tell you my feelings, but since you had (R/G/N) around, I can't freaking tell you my problem!!"

"That I'm hopelessly in love with my bet friend!!!"

After your untimely confession, you ran away with tears falling from your face.

"(Y/N)!!!" Hiro shouted, but once again, your'e gone. Hiro sighed in defeat. She loves me, and I didn't even notice. Hiro thought.

Hiro just stared at the path you just ran off. "I guess I was also dumb for not realizing it early." He muttered as he leaned on his lab's doorway.

You managed to get out of the building without being followed by Hiro, and you breathed out a sigh of relief. You stared at the school building with red puffy eyes, full of regret.

You just told your friend your feelings, and ruined years of friendship. What's the worse thing that could happen?

You fall in your knees, kneeling. You then buried your face in your hands and cried your heart out.

"This sucks!!" You screamed loudly, never even noticing a shadow watching from afar.
