You sprinted from your chair to the door of your classroom as the bell rang loudly. You just can't spend another minute--another second in that classroom with a teacher who was blabbing about her love life.
Besides that the topic is not even close to the lesson, it was reminding you of your own love life. It just crushes you to be reminded of that every single day. "Stupid teacher, reminding me on how I totally suck in Love." You muttered, not loud for anyone to hear--which is totally fine.
Sighing, you ran to where your locker was before the hallways got crowded. Putting the combination and opening your locker door, you hastily put your books and some notebooks in your locker--ignoring the snickering and teasing of some other students. News in this school is faster than any light could travel--especially, gossips about love this and all that. What's worse is that everyone knew about your situation without you even telling them. Someone probably saw you and Hiro. Which is embarrassing and frustrating at the same time.
With that, you took your leave and ran to the place you always go whenever your'e sad, or just wanted to be alone. The only downside is, you and your best friend Hiro knows about this place--your best friend which happens to be the boy of your dreams.
But with you wanting to get away for a while, you just went straight ahead and ignored all the worst possibilities that could happen.
-----
Arriving at the park where the two of you--you and Hiro--once always went as children, you silently cried to yourself, knowing that a thousand eyes could possibly notice your state now. "It's so weird, I tried to avoid him, but be reminded of him nonetheless." You muttered. "I guess I'll never be good for him--heck, I think I'll never be good for anyone." You said, walking towards the swings and sitting down. Sighing, you wiped your tear-stained face and tried to calm yourself, despite the pain you've been feeling all day.
"I wonder what might have been if I hadn't moved into this place? If I hadn't met Hiro--or the gang, If I hadn't confessed, If I didn't fall for the most oblivious person in my life." You muttered to yourself. Sniffing, you grabbed your hanky from your pocket and wiped the snot and tears on your face. You probably looked weird doing so, but you didn't mind at all--at the moment. You cared on how you look too, even though you were practically a mess since this morning.
Oversleeping, being late in first period, getting some snooze on during study hall, getting lectured on by the teacher, and the worst of all, confessing to Hiro the other night. For you, it looked like the right time to do so, so you did, and you got the worst possible outcome. Getting yourself into the worst place scenario--friendzoned. Yeah, that's right. The only thing that was bugging you was getting into that zone. For others, it may seem or look like a new start, but for you? Nah. It only turned you into something already worse that you were from the start.
"Stupid me, acting without even thinking about the possible outcome. Pathetic." You said, putting arms around yourself, feeling the cold air brush against your skin. It was definitely the bad time to only wear a t-shirt. Overall, this was one of the most tiring--and worst day of your life.
"It's getting colder..." You managed to mutter before a flash of lightning came into view. It made you squeal a bit and ran towards the nearest shelter--luckily, before the rain started. "Weird." You said, putting your hands in front of your chest, trying to get some heat. "It wasn't even that cloudy..."
Drop. Drop. Drop.
Now it was quite the storm. The rain started pouring and the wind seems to be getting stronger. You yourself was wet even if you are under the shelter.
"What a nice day--for them at least." You said, motioning for the people who had cars, raincoats and umbrellas. At least they can get home. But you? Who knows how long this rain is finally gonna stop?
Groaning, you rubbed your wet hands to your arms--which are also wet--hoping to get a little warmth of something, but since you are already soaked, it didn't quite work at all.
-----
Finally managed to get home, you took off your wet clothes in the bathroom, took a shower and changed into new and dry clothes.
Sighing, you carefully dried your hair with a towel and walked to your comfy bed. Deciding to let your hair blow-dried instead, you hung the damp towel to a nearby clothesline. (And if you think it's weird to have a clothesline inside the house, it was--but very useful for drying things inside the house, especially when it's raining.)
You silently walked to your bedroom, not wanting any sound to be heard--somehow, silence is all you want at the moment, so you decided to be quiet and let your thoughts linger.
Closing your eyes, you thought about how you and Hiro became friends, to best friends, to nothing. It hurt you, yes, but it has to be done to understand the next step: Moving on and forgetting.
"It's not THAT hard, right?" You muttered to yourself, wondering if you moving on from Hiro was even possible. I mean, you loved the boy longer than anyone, and cared for him the longest time, to stop caring now and move on was indeed hard to do.
-----
(After 3 months.)
Living without Hiro was hard, since you were practically with him almost everyday--until THAT happened, and of course everything had changed.
You are still in middle school, while Hiro was still in SFIT, achieving so many. You do know how he was doing at school, since you do visit the gang, but Hiro himself? No, you weren't that much ready yet. So you decided to steer out of his way for a while and let yourself heal from the wound of love.
Love. You don't even know what to do with that word again. Scoffing, you continued to finish the essay assignment your english teacher gave you.
After hours or so, you heard a knock from the other side of your bedroom door. Assuming it was your mom, you opened the door.
It was your mom, apparently she brought you some snacks. She was about to leave, but remembered something she had been meaning to ask you for a while.
"Hey, (Y/N), how's that best friend of yours?"
Before you could even bite on the sandwich your mom had brought for you, you stopped halfway. Even though she hadn't said his name, it made you think about him again.
Taking a deep breath, you answered; "He's fine. But, why are you asking about him?"
"Oh nothing, it was just weird not seeing you and him together now. Usually you would had Hiro over now, and the two of you would play video games." She replied, looking at you.
"Oh...Uh...He's been busy." Was all you could think of. But it was true. Hiro's been that busy that he rarely meets the gang--he's been busy doing projects and gave you a reason to hang out with the gang
"Really? He must be that good." You mother said before finally leaving you alone in your bedroom.
Taking a bite out of that sandwich, you wondered out loud; "He is. But I'm not good enough apparently."
