I cuddled into Ash's side and look around us. We were surrounded. I let a tear slip and put my hands up. But Ash pushes them back down.
I look up and see Lou looking at Haz and Ash, nodding. He stands up and walks towards them.
"Lou..." I say.
He looks back and gives me a small nod, and continues walking towards them again. I cry when he jumps onto them and we make a run for it.
I look back and see the worst possible thing. Lou getting shot in the head and falling limply to the ground.
I trip and fall, trying to push back towards Lou's limp body. I let so my tears slip that I lose count. And then I go blind with rage.
I jump up and try to run towards them but Ash grabs me and pulls me.
"Fall...please...we can't do this right now." he says.
I look towards them and stop trying. I look at Lou's body and up at the soldiers aiming at us. I turn around and run with my group. We hear gun shots behind us and suddenly Ash gets shot in the side and falls with a grunt.
I try to get him up but I'm not strong enough. I look at Haz with pleading eyes and he makes his way towards us.
He helps me get Ash up and we continue towards the exit. I look back and see the soldiers running after us, guns pointed.
We make it to the door and it requires an I.D badge. I'm glad I grabbed the main nurses before we got surrounded.
I grab it out of my pocket and scan it. The doors open and we run out together. We run into the forest back towards our camp.
We need to move camps again. We run for about one to two hours and we finally make it to our raided camp.
We take Ash into the medical tent. We look at the bullet wound and see that if we don't get it out soon it will quickly get infected.
Haz takes a pair of tweezers and I grab a hold a Ash's clammy hands, just before Haz digs into the wound. Ash screams and squeezes my hand.
After a few minutes of it, Haz finally pulls the bullet out of his side. Ash sighs in relief, his face sweaty from pain.
I put my head on his stomach and sigh in relief that all of this is over.
I look into my boyfriends eyes as Haz wraps his side with some gauze so that it doesn't bleed anymore. I hug Ash and Haz walks out of the tent.
"We made it..." I say.
"We made it together. I think that we should move far away from here together Fall. We can have a child and just live a normal life. But we have to take down the government first..." He say.
I nod my head and look down at the small bump. I put my hands on it and I smile, thinking about if it's a boy or girl.
"You seem like you're in a lot of pain..." I say.
"I am...it hurts to get shot. But since you're hear, I am doing better..." He says, causing butterflies to burst in my stomach.
I look down and he pulls my face to his, kissing me with so much passion. I kiss him back. It is the greatest feeling in the world.
For the first time, I'm glad we are together.
