Going on a date!

Chapter 9

Jenni's POV

The hickey was finally fading, thank god!!! I was outside sitting at the picnic table just having my favorite grape koolaid. It was so hot out I thought my plastic cup was going to melt. It was Tuesday. So that meant that Conrad's dad was bringing the jetski out!! He only did it once a week because they didn't have a place to tie it up so he had to keep going back and forth putting it in at the boat ramp.

Conrad, came up and sat beside me on the table. "Hey are you going to go Jetskiing with us??"

"I wouldnt miss it. I wish we had a jetski." I did wish we had one everyone here had all this cool equipment. We just had a boat and a tube. It's nice to have that but when you see everyone with all these fun other toys, you get a little jealous.

"I bet someday you will get one." He said. Then he hopped off the table. He said he would see me later and that he was going to get his swimsuit on. I went and did the same thing.

It was about one o'clock when we always left then we would come back at six so we could eat supper. I told my mom we were going down to the dock and then leaving. We all met down there and by we I mean Conrad, Alex, Jake, Nick, and me. The parents always stayed back and hung out together; sometimes they would go in town to the bar.

"Okay, let's go!" Conrad said and then we all got onto the jetskis. Some of us had to pair up because there were only 3 jetskis. I got my own Conrad and Jake then Nick and Alex. I didn't want to have someone riding with me because I was still getting used to driving and I didn't want to worry about someone also riding.

We got going and they just took off I had to follow in there lead or else I would lose them. We rode and rode and rode. Nick and Conrad kept turning sharp trying to make Jake and Alex to fall off. Alex fell off a lot but Jake only fell off once. We had been going for a couple hours when Nick led us up to the old dock where Conrad took me when we went fishing. I peeked a glance at him and he did the same thing. He gave me a quick grin before he looked back to the dock.

"Okay, guys I thought we could swing on the rope for a while." Nick said all giddy and excited that he thought of the idea.

Everyone got off and was running towards the rope to be first in line. Conrad and I were a little hesitant to get off of the jetski. Nick mush have noticed because he turned around and asked us what's up.

"Nothing" Conrad and I said at the same time and then we got off right aways so no one would ask anymore questions about us acting weird. While we were there Conrad and I didn't seem to talk to eachother it was just kind of awkward. Nick seemed to notice because he kept giving us quizzical looks.

We were tired of swinging on the rope and it was almost six so we all got on the jetskis and headed out. It took about 2 minutes to get back to the camp ground. We all went our own ways to eat dinner then said we would meet up after ward to hang out.

About a half-hour later we all met up again. We didn't play ditch because everyone was still shocked about what happened when I finally told them.

It was getting late and everyone was tired and didn't really have anything to talk about anymore. Jake and Alex left an hour ago to go back to our camper and watch a movie so it was just Conrad, Nick, and me. "Well, I'm getting pretty tired and I think that I'm going to go back to the camper. See you tomorrow guys." I said getting up and walking back.

I heard Nick and Conrad talking about leaving and I heard them both get up and walk away. I was almost up the hill. "Hey Jenni, wait up." I turned around and saw Nick running towards me.

"Hey what's up?" as we continued walking up the hill.

"So whatcha doing tomorrow?" He said seeming a little nervous. That was weird.

"Um.. Nothing just going to be hanging out like always. Why?"

"Well maybe you'd want to go to dinner with me tomorrow?" He kept walking but wouldn't look at me when he asked. He was nervous and it was really cute.

"Yeah! That sounds good." I was excited and very surprised.

He looked at me when I said that and he looked a little shocked. "Really?"

"Yeah!" Geez it's like he thought I would change my mind or something but I'm not.

"Great so I will pick you up at 7?" He stopped and looked at me.

"Yeah, that's good."

"Cool, well see you tomorrow." We were at the top of the hill standing there between our campers.

"See ya." and we both walked away.

I went inside and saw that they were half way through watching pitch perfect. I sat down and started watching with them. I wasn't even paying attention all I could think of was that I was going on a date with Nick tomorrow. How did that happen?
