Another boat ride.

Chapter 7

Conrad's POV

For some reason it irritated me that Jenni went into town with Nick. I know that there is nothing going on, but ever since that kiss I have felt some--

No I am being ridiculous it was just a kiss we were playing a game thats all it was. I need to forget about it. So what that they went into town, but why would Nick want anything to do with her. No, it doesnt matter forget it.

We got going in the boat and Jake and Alex volunteered to go first. They were going for a long time until we stopped in the middle of the lake to trade off people for the next turn on the tube.

"I'll go next." Jenni said behind me.

"You want to go Conrad?" I turned around startled that Nick was talking, but I don't know why.

"Um, yeah sure. If that's okay with you, Jenni" I said looking over to her.

"Yeah, why wouldn't it be? Lets go!!!"

We got on the tube and got situated. We started going and I heard Jenni talking beside me.

"Hey I might get a little scared so if I grab onto you I'm sorry."

I chuckled a little bit. "That's fine."

"Okay" We started going and got off the wake which is my favorite part but I guess it wasn't Jenni's favorite because she was screaming and grabbing onto my arm so hard I thought I was losing circulation.

"Are you okay?" Why did I just say that obviously shes not okay, shes screaming with fright.

"Ummmmaaahhhh" She said in midscream. "AAAHHHHhhhh yeah I think I will be okay I just don't like going off the wake. It feels like I'm going to fall off."

"Well don't worry you wont, you can hold onto me."

"Okaaaahhhhhhh-" at that moment we went up the wake

"Its okay its okay its over" but went I looked over she wasn't on the tube with me. I looked behind me and immediately jumped off.

I saw her about 10 yards away, gasping for air and squirming around trying to stay afloat. I swam over there as fast as I could and grabbed ahold of her.

"Calm down, calm down. Its okay" She was still squirming until I squeezed on her arm harder. She had this very frightened look on her face and I was getting a little concerned. Finally she settled down and let me hold her up. She looked at me and her face was still frightened but she was starting to calm down. The boat had whirled around and was now pulling up beside us.

"Is everything okay?" Nick said, leaning over the boat down at us.

"Yeah, she just fell off the tube when we went up the wake, but everything is going to be okay," I said looking back to Jenni, "Right?"

"Yeah its okay I was just a little scared for a little bit there, but im okay." She was still gasping for air as she started swimming to the edge of the boat. "I think Im done for now."

"Okay" I got into the boat too and grabbed a towel then threw one to the shivering Jenni, and went and sat down a few feet away from her.

We were riding around for about and hour stopping every once and a while to hop in and swim, when suddenly...

"I think I want to go again."

I looked over at Jenni. "Yeah?"

"Yeah, I know it was super scary when I fell off but I need to get over it and go again."
