Chapter 13

Conrad's POV

The whole rest of the day I didn't talk to Nick, and if we happened to see each other it was nothing but glaring. I was still trying to figure out a plan of how I could get Jenni to like me. I think I'm already ahead. I have kissed her before and there were those moments in the maze we had. Nick may have kissed her but she pulled away when my car drove by.

I stayed on the dock when he left. About 10 minutes later, Jenni came onto the dock and sat right beside me. I really had no idea what to do and even though I liked her all I wanted to do was get up and run away.

"Hey." She said first. as she peaked over at me. I could tell she was nervous too, since she said it pretty quietly.

"Hi" I didn't know what to say so this way she would start the conversation.

"Listen, I'm sorry" She said at last. I was not expecting that!

"What?" I said finally looking over at her.

"Well, it's my fault this whole thing happened. I don't want to be the one in the middle of this who breaks up yours and Nick's friendship." She said looking very sorry and ashamed. Right there she looked so cute and all I wanted to do was kiss her.

"No, none of this is your fault. Okay? This is between me and Nick and it's not you. I promise." S

"Really?" She said looking a little relieved.

"Really." Now she looked really relieved even her shoulders slumped down. Then she smiled at me and gave me a hug. I was pretty shocked but then I hugged her back. I wanted to just sit there and hug her but I know that wouldn't happen because just then she pulled away. She smiled at me again still holding onto my arms.

"Well, I've got to go for supper. I'll see you later then. Okay?" She said standing up and slowly walking down the dock.

"Yeah, yes. Of course." I said and then she smiled and was gone. I needed to come up with something to make her like me as much as I liked her and to forget Nick and quickly because I have more of a disadvantage since there campers are right next to each other but I will find a way.

I have a good idea. I do know how much Jenni's mom doesn't like her going out with a junior, I might be able to make it that.

Right, after supper I went up to Jenni's camper. I was lucky to know that Jenni, Jake and her dad went in town to get ice cream. So, now it was just me and her mom. Which is good now I can tell her everything she needs to about Nick.

"Hi, Sarah." I said sweetly walking over to where she was sitting on the picnic table.

"HI Conrad. How's it going?" She said smiling at me.

"I am great. Listen I heard you were a little nervous about the whole Jenni going on a date with Nick when he is a Junior and I think you should be." I said pretty casually but serious.

"What? Why do you say that? " and now she looked worried, she was listening very intently.

"Well, like I said he is a junior and since I am his cousin I know all of the things he has done with girls. If you know what I mean." I said smirking to myself.

She jumped up then. "What kind of stuff?"

"Well, let's just say this isn't his first rodeo. He has rode a few bulls." I said quite proud of my figure of speech. I really had no idea how many girls he had slept with. I didn't even know if he's even slept with anyone at all.

"Ohh My god!! No way is he seeing my daughter ever again!!!" She said storming towards the camper door. She turned around and said. "Thank you Conrad for telling me this. I will have a talk with her, but why are you telling me this anyway. Nick is your cousin."

"Yes, yes he is. I just don't want Jenni to get hurt. I don't think she would believe it if I told her." I said sounding very sincere.

"Right." She said smiling at me and I think she was smiling when I said I didn't want her to get hurt. "Well, thanks Conrad." And then she was walking up the camper stairs.

"Oh and Sarah if you would not say my name I would appreciate that. I thought you needed to know this information but I also don't want Nick to kill me for telling you this."

"Oh yes of course, sweetie. I totally understand." She smiled and then walked into the camper.

I walked away with a huge grin on my face. My job was done now I don't think Jenni won't even get to be near Nick. I bet Sarah is setting up a restraining order right now. I stayed in the camper the rest of the night. I know Sarah said she wouldn't tell who the source was of the information but who else would it be it's not like Alex would go tell Sarah this.

That night I slept with one eye open.
