Chapter15

Nick's POV

"Well, forget it!! I'm not here to be your toy for the summer!! Find someone else." Jenni said and then she ran away. I called out her name for her to come back but she wouldn't turn. I turned around and punched a tree as hard as I could. Stupid Nick, how the hell could I have made her think I just wanted to sleep with her. I don't want to do that... well not now!!  I like her and I've never slept with anyone in my life. Where did she get that Idea that I have.

I walked around the entire campground and down the road outside the campground just thinking and thinking why? how? I know I was a little bit angry about Conrad liking her and flirting with her but that has nothing to do with any of this....Wait a minute, CONRAD!!!!. I am going to hunt that asshole down and kick his ass so hard he won't ever even look at Jenni again.

I have to find that kid. NOW! I was still walking on that road outside the campground so I turned around and started heading back.. I first went to his camper.  I walked in. I didn't even think about knocking these people were my aunt and uncles camper I don't have to knock. I looked around and the only person who was there was Conrad's mom.

"Hey Karen have you seen Conrad anywhere?" I said very fast I didn't want to waste anytime talking when Conrad was out there probably flirting it up with Jenni but I did because she might know where he is.

"No sorry Nick. I haven't seen him." She said and then went back to cooking she was about to say something else. I know it was going to be something about my parents because they were planning this whole reunion thing, so before she could I ran out of the camper.

I had to find him. I started walking up the hill towards my camper. On my way there I looked around Jenni's camper. I was going to knock on the door and see if he was in there but I didn't. I figured that if she knew I was "sleeping" with other girls she probably told her parents too. Plus, I knew that if Jenni would have answered the door she would have just slammed it in my face again. I walked over to my camper and saw he wasn't there so I walked inside. It was just my mom sitting there on the phone, probably with Karen. "Mom, have you seen Conrad?"  I said quietly so she wouldn't get mad if I was talking loud while she was on the phone.  She looked over at me and mouthed the word 'nope' and then went back to talking. I walked outside and hopped in my truck and headed into town.

When I got in town I headed to every place that he liked the most first I went to the outdoorsman's store. which is where all the sport things are. I think I wasted 15 minutes in there looking for him in there and he wasn't there. Then I went to the small cute candy shop that we always went to when we were in town. I wasted another 5 minutes in there and he still was no where in sight. I got back in my truck and headed back to the campground.

When I got there I was running and I think the anger was going out of me. I thought of the whole thing again and it came back as much as it did before but I need to find him because if it takes a while then I won't care anymore about what he did. I looked around and around and around. Finally I looked out to the middle of the lake and found the paddle boat out there with Conrad standing there fishing.. WITH JENNI!!!

Luckily there was another paddle boat. I went and grabbed a life jacket off the hook and paddled out as fast as I could. Finally, I got out there. I hopped into there paddle boat and threw myself at Conrad we both went flying into the water.

"What the hell is going on?!?!?" Conrad yelled at me as he caught his breath and started treading water.

"Nick!! Get out of here. I don't want to see you ever again!!" Jenni yelled at me. I didn't really pay attention to her because I was too focused on killing Conrad.

"Why the HELL would you say I've slept with other girls?!?" I yelled at him holding onto his shirt. Thrusting water at his face to get in his mouth, it worked.

He had the fastest smirk on his face I've ever seen and then it turned to a confused look. "Why, because it's true. I know you "like" Jenni but I didn't want to see her getting hurt by you like that. It would have done nobody any good and afterwards you would have completely ignored her and went on to another girl, like you always do." After his last word I was livid. I dunked him underwater and kept him there.

"NICK LET HIM GO!!! YOU JUST DON'T WANT TO BELIEVE THAT THAT'S TRUE AND YOU WOULD'VE DONE THAT TO ME!!!!!!!!!" Jenni yelled at me as loud as she could. I did as she said and let Conrad go. I didn't want her to hate me even more than she already does.

I let Conrad up and he was gasping for air so I swam over to the side of the boat right beside Jenni. I was going to say everything I could before Conrad caught his breath again.

"Jenniyoudon'tunderstandI'veneversleptwithagirlbefore.Conradjustsaidthatbecausehewantedyoutohateme!

"Ok I have no idea what you just said" Jenni said. "Please just leave, I don't want anything from you ever again."Jenni said

"No please, Jenni. Just hear me out." I turned around and saw that Conrad was swimming back to the boat.

"One minute and that's all you get!" Jenni said turning to me. She was still glaring.

"Okay, listen. I don't want to sleep with you. I've never slept with a girl in my life." I said begging.

"I don't believe you." Jenni said and she was about to turn away but I started talking again.

"NO you see, you could even test me if you wanted to. I haven't!" I said putting my hands up on the boat right in front of her. "I didn't take you on a date and all that so that I could sleep with you. I actually like you!! I don't know where you got the idea that I did." I said looking at her quizzically even though I did know why it was because of stupid Conrad.

"Well, my mom said that you were just dating me to sleep with me." She said still mad but she had a little bit of guilt in her eyes.

"No, you see. Conrad went and made that up, then went and told your mom who told you that. It was just a big, huge lie.

"Conrad? Why would he make up this lie?" She looked over at Conrad getting back in the boat.

"Okay, Jenni I admit it. I made up the lie because I didn't want you to see him again. He's not good enough for you and you need someone who really appreciates you." Conrad said.  

"Aww Conrad that was really sweet but Nick  is sweet." she looked back at me. I looked over at Conrad he was glaring at me and I just smirked. "I forgive you Nick." She said and she smiled at me.

"Good, I'm glad you understand it wasn't true." I said.

"I do." She said. "Now, let's go." She said. I swam away from her and they're boat over to mine on my way over, Conrad stuck his foot in the water and splashed water at me when I swam by. I flipped him off but smiled because I know I won and so did he.
