Not Like The Others

i paint with the colors on my hands
as i leave my insignificant mark
on the world...

you're the only one who can see me,
no one else but you.
but does that really even matter?
you don't love me,
not like i love you.

it hurts me, it pains me
to see you chase another
because it's just you and me
in my little world

you're all i have,
yet i'm not the one you want.
you seek one whom you can show off
when i'm just a secret kept in a box.

do you not see the passion i hold inside of me?
it's precious and held in my heart.

some may say i'm too optimistic,
but you say i just see everything clearer
and better than anyone else.
you say i see the truth behind people's lying eyes,
and that i do.

i see you would not die for me
like i would die for you,
because you're the last good thing
i have in this bad world.

you do not see me aching
and weeping in the corners of every room.
i wait for you to notice me
like i noticed you.

i wait as i remember
when you came close
and whispered,
"you're not like the others..."
