Lost

Hi Ruby

  Emma frowned as she walked into Granny's and spotted Ruby who was in a super skimpy outfit.
   "Hi Emma." She greeted her with a grin.
  "Hi Ruby!" She exclaimed sitting on the bar stool.

  "Did mother Superior let you out of prison or did you break out?" She teased and Emma laughed.
  "Um the latter." She admitted with a cocky smile. Ruby just laughed back at her with a smile.
  "Uh you kill me kid! You're too much!" She told her shaking her head as she quickly took a plate of food to a couple.

  Emma grinned following her smiling all the way.
   "Hey Ruby can I ask you something!" Emma asked hesitantly and Ruby sat the plate down and turned with a smile.
  "Sure kid what do you wanna know?" She asked smiling warmly and Emma took a deep breath before she whispered.

     "Why do you dress like that?" She asked and Ruby looked down at her clothes.
  "What's wrong with my outfit?" She asked and Emma sighed.
     "Nothing it's just a .....little skimpy." She told her which made Leroy spew his beer all over as he burst out laughing and Ruby dropped her tray in shock.

  "Okay then what do you suggest I wear?" She asked and Emma shrugged.
  "What do you have?" Emma asked and Ruby grabbed her hand and lead her upstairs. Swiftly she opened the door to her bedroom then pulled open her closet.
  "Well this is all that I have." She told her honestly and Emma frowned looking concentrated before she smiled at Ruby.
   "Well make two piles one to keep and one to throw away!" She exclaimed making Ruby chuckle.

  "You think I'm who?" Ruby asked taking a sip of wine and Emma smiled widely as she took a sip of apple juice.
  "Red riding Hood aka Snow White's best most loyal friend!" She explained making Ruby laugh.

  "Ah Snow White is friends with red ridinghood who is me?" She asked sounding somewhat uncertain and Emma nodded eagerly.
    "Yes, and Mary Margaret is Snow White!!!" She exclaimed happily which made Ruby smile.

  "You're something else kid let me tell you!!" Ruby told her taking another sip of wine then Emma studied the clock.
   "Uh oh its seven thirty I better go I missed dinner!" She exclaimed and Ruby grabbed her hand.

  "She's not going to let you eat anyway let me make you something to eat." Ruby offered sincerely and Emma smiled.
   "Thanks she's already taken two dinners in a row !" She exclaimed and Ruby smiled sadly thinking "poor kid"

  Emma slowly opened the door to the orphanage. Fear clenched inside her stomach as she walked and she felt like running the other way. It was 8:30 and that was way past lights out.

  "Emma!" Someone whispered and Emma turned and visually relaxed at the sight of  Astrid.
  "Quick Emma come into my room." She whispered and Emma swiftly raced over to her.
  "Have you eaten?" She asked gently and Emma nodded and she let out a breath of relief.

  "Okay then let me help you upstairs." She whispered gently and Emma nodded following her with a smile.
    "Thanks Astrid." She told her softly.
   "No problem Emma, you're a very special girl."
