Domonics blood boiled as he watched Sampson retreat. A deep, and loud, growl from Domonic made the ground he stood on shake. Watching a third person die from Sampsons hands, never really seeing, or hearing about, how Nichole died, made every bone in his body ache for revenge!
"Everyone to the fountain," Domonic barked, "now!!"
"Yes Alpha!" The pack called out all turning toward the main square and darting into position. Once everyone was gathered Domonic ascended the giant fountain foundation.
"Who's missing?" Domonics voice echoed threw the town.
"They killed Alice," Peter, a boy who had been bitten fifteen years ago, spoke, "And took Samantha!"
"They took Janace!" Ace growled, "they had at least five of us chained to one cart as they drove off."
"And you saw," the angry voice of Rickys sister called, "Sampson shot and killed Ricky!"
Growls and shouts of, "he was here!" filled the pack.
"They had a ten year old," a growl from Josh came, "its a girl. She's not a hunter."
"They were using her as bate!" Sharren growled, scarring Dominic who'd never seen Sharon get angry except when Sally was mentioned, "she is hurt really bad. Her right leg is broken!"
"What should we do?" Domonic asked wry about the packs reply.
"Make her one of us!"
"Send her back! She's a liability. "
"Kill her!"
"No!" Domonic dove in the direction of the shout grabbing the persons shirt collar in both hands, "we will not become like Sampson!"
"I'll take care of her," Sharrens voice, as she had lost a daughter, sounded anxiously, "when the hunters killed Mary I thought I lost any chance of being a mom, this is that chance! Please Domonic!"
"Alright," Domonic agreed, "but next month you will have to bit her, no matter what."
"Yes alpha!" Sharren and Josh both nodded and darted away into the back area of town where the small girl was. Domonic passed back and forth for a long time making the pack anxious.
"Now we need to discus what precautions to take," Domonic finally said, "since they will attack us day or night we need people posted at all entrances at all times! We also need to try and find out what the attack was all about, hunters are usually smart enough to know not to attack in that way."
"The attack," a weak voice came as Josh and Sharren re-appeared, "it was meant to find Edith's box."
The voice cam from a small bundle in Josh's arms. The child was deathly pale and very small. Her legs dangled uselessly over Joshes arms as he approached Domonic.
"Why did it involve you young one?" Domonic asked as he stepped down off the fountain letting Josh place the girl on its wide edge.
"I was a decoy," the girl spoke in a whisper, "they thought you'd spot me before you saw them."
"Well they where wrong," Domonic smiled as he placed a hand on the girls right leg and nodded at Josh who took a deep breath and place his hands on the small child's shoulders, "what's your name?"
"Emma," she squeaked, "what are you doing mister?"
