The sun beamed in on Domonics face. Domonic lay across the bed as the sun flashed across his eyes. Domonic blinked awake and rubbed his eyes as he sat up on the bed. On a dresser across from him a clean night shirt sat for that night next to a pearl white washing basin. Domonic arose to greet that night but something wasn't right. Suzan wasn't in the room like she said she would be. The Inn its self was dead silent giving an eire feel to the room. Right away he shot up and darted to the door. He checked each room that his pack occupied but each was empty. At wolf speed he ran down the stairs to find a sight that made his stomach turn. Sampson held Suzan tight against him holding a tube of liquid silver to her neck. Domonic wanted to
"You want me?" Sampson sneered, "Come and get me!"
Domonic sat bolt upright in bed his heart racing, and he was in a cold sweet. Domonic screamed out "no" before he realized that it had been a dream. Domonic looked around seeing the walls of his room and that there was no night shirt on the dresser. Turning his head he saw Suzan sitting on the bed across from him, humming.
"What's wrong?" Suzan asked as she turned to face Domonic.
"Nothing," Domonic said, "just a dream."
"Marcus is looking for you." A voice called from the stairs.
Domonic exited the room and walked down the hall. He checked each bedroom his pack slept in to make sure they were ok. All were sound asleep, which didn't surprise Domonic any as they usually slept all day after a full moon. Domonic stepped into the main bar as Lewi walked up.
"Marcus says to meet him at the bar down younder. "Lewi said as he walked away.
Domonic walked outside of the inn shivering as he threw his coat on and started down the street. It had begun to snow well Domonic had slept and his coat wasn't even keeping the cold air out. The wind blew fiercely biting and whipping at Domonics cheeks. Once he reached the building he didn't hesitate to walk into its warm arms. He hung up his coat and stomped off his boots and finally approached Marcus.
"Welcome dear friend," Marcus greeted, "Please take this seat by me."
"Thank you," Domonic sat in the empty seat by Marcus.
Marcus had begun to talk but Domonic hadn't listened. His eyes were on a man who was trying to hide his face from view with his long hair.
"Jake?" Domonic asked. The room went dead silent suddenly as the long haired man lifted his face. Fear and pain filled the mans face as he looked Domonic right in the eye.
"I'm sorry," Jake whispered, "Alpha."
All hell broke lose. Marcus pack was barking in confusion and anger as Domonic growled at Jake.
"You abandoned them Jake!" Domonics bark made everyone freeze, "My father is dead Jake so is most of the pack!"
"I was afraid Domonic!" Jake begged.
"So you leave!" Domonic howled, "everyone is dead Jake! All but five adults and a few pups!"
"Domonic please!" Jake begged as if for his life, "I'm sorry!
"Its out of my hands Jake! You know the law!"
"What's going on?" Marcus asked.
"He is from my pack," Domonic explained what happened to Little wolf and how Sampson wanted something there so he burned it to the ground, "Jake abandoned the pack. We have laws about what happens."
"what is that law?" one of Marcuses pack asked.
"Death." Domonic replied his head facing the ground.
"Why not change the law?" Marcus asked.
"Because," Jake said, "this law has been in place since the beginning."
"Oh," Marcus didn't seem upset or worried, "Well Jake since he is your alpha I cannot save you."
"I understand sir." Jake replied as realization covered Mt. Luna packs face. The law had to stand, Jake had to die.
Right at that moment Jake and Luke burst in breathing heavily from running.
"Sorry we're late," Luke panted, "Why did we get...Jake Is that you?"
"Hi guys," Jake gave a sad smile.
"Domonic what's wrong?" Josh asked.
"Its me," Jake replied, "I abandoned the pack."
"Jake," Josh eyes filled with sadness for his friend then anger, "Shannons dead Jake! Emma-" Josh started to shake.
"Jake calm down!" Domonic ordered.
"Yes sir." Jake said as finally he calmed at the Alphas command.
"Is there another way?" Marcus asked.
"I whish but no. Not once everyone finds out" Domonic face was turned down.
"Well take him to the inn,"Josh, Luke and Jake disappeared threw the bars door as Domonic watched.
"I don't know how to explain this to my pack," Domonic admitted.
"Actually two different packs is what I wanted to talk about," Marcus said, "I wanted to suggest that we combine packs. You would be my second in command and I would stay Alpha."
"Ok," though Domonic was suspicious of why Marcus said he would be Alpha right off the bat he knew his pack needed a safe place to stay.
"Now your laws would still apply to your wolves but also my laws as well."
Again this made Domonic suspicious but he agreed and as he went to tell his pack turned and said two words that hadn't left his mouth since he was ten:
"Yes Alpha."
