"I'll get him," Domonic ran in the direction that Josh had disappeared shouting as her ran, with a blanket around himself, "Help Emma, Ace"

"Yes sir," Ace shouted back

'The last of mothers original companions,' Domonic thought, 'dead! And all by Sampsons hand!

Domonic found Josh sitting, in wolf form, by a creek. Josh's head was inclined toward the river and his tail lay limp in the mud.

"It's not your fault," Domonic said as he stood by the giant wolf, "we all lose it at times. I lost it today as well! Come on, we are leaving, I don't know where but we have got to leave!"

Josh simply nodded as he turned and faced the way back to Little Wolf. Domonic walked beside Josh as they approached the small group. A wagon was already being prepared with food that hadn't been destroyed in the fire. A white canvas covered the wagon protecting the three vampire children, that Suzan had managed to rescue, from the rising sun. Seventeen pups sat on the back of the wagon, seven of them let their feet dangle off the side. Emma was tucked far back in the wagon fast asleep so Josh climbed in as a wolf and nudged his way next to her. Ace threw Domonic some clothes from Domonics pack and Domonic changed right before mounting caramel and hooking Joshes horse up to the wagon. Suzan sat on the driver seat holding the reins well Ace, Luke and Marrium mounted their horses and they all left. No one looked back at the burnt village as they left it behind, the only memories now were filled with pain.

The trip was taken in silence. It took about an hour pulling a wagon to get to the road that lead to the Bacau gate. They were nearing the road when Domonic came up next to Suzan.

"How many of the pack are left?" He called, only Suzan and the four that had been with him raised their hands, "That's it? Only six of us?"

"Also we have four adult banshees and their children, and twenty orphaned," Suzan added up, "seventeen pups three vampires, all banshee kids that survived have part of their family left."

"Well," Domonics head fell, "I don't see defeating Sampson with seventeen pups, six werewolves, four banshees, a few children vampires and one of the werewolves to old to shift!"

"No hope," Suzan sighed, "with the dragons on the hunters side!"

"What!"" Domonic and the ones that had left with him growled.

"We thought they were helping us!" A small black haired pup looked up with tear stained eyes, Domonic saw that the pup was Peters son and he frowned, "but we were wrong!"

"Well," Suzan began as the caravan rode on, "here's what happened,"

"Eric was standing guard at the front gate and Jake was at the back, Eric only saw one hunter and took him down easily. As he got up he saw that there was much more hiding in the woods. He called back to us and we all ran out to fight. Eric told me to grab as many children as I could and hide them. I was grouping the children up when we saw the dragons. We rejoiced, but it was short lived as the dragons turned their flame onto us. Eric wouldn't come with me, he wouldn't leave the pack!"

Silence filled the air as Suzan finished talking. They trooped quickly along the path that lead to the main road. As they approached the northern woods Domonic called the group to a halt. A hunter stood at the woods edge and he seemed to be alone. Josh sniffed the air and growled at the hunter.

"More than him?" Domonic asked and Josh nodded his giant head, "Josh you need to shift and get dressed. I'll hide Emma."

Josh nodded as Ace threw him a shirt and pants as Domonic gently picked Emma up. Domonic lay Emma in the back of the wagon so she was right under the drivers seat. He covered her with a blanket and rolled her on her side to hide the bitten arm.
