Dear Heart,

I am watching the man I love as he waits for the woman he wanted to be with for the rest of his life. It kinda sucks but I have to be happy for him. He was after all, my Best friend.

He was my for hire knight in shining armor, I am his damsel in distress but that's just what we are.

Alexis sighed as she reads those words from that old diary. Hindi niya alam kung bakit hanggang ngayon ay damang-dama pa rin niya ang bawat letra sa mga pahina ng notebook na iyon. The only thing she knew was now special that thing was for her. That diary brought her to the most important thing in her life right now and sometimes she wanted to be sorry for it pero minsan lang iyon.

"Alexis Cai!"

Nagulat siya nang bigla na lang tapikin ni Anne ang table niya. She took a deep breath as she looked at her office mate. Anne Smith had been her friend since she first started at that call center company. They had been together since that day, and she really considers Anne as one of her friends.

"My god! You flushed out again. Ano na namang problema mo?" She sighed as she rolls her eyes. Kahit paano naman ay napangiti siya sa sinabi nito.

"Worried ka sa akin." Nakatawang wika niya. Anne shook her head.

"I swear, if it's about Jacinto Emilio, I am gonna wreck your beautiful neck!" Angil nito. Na-freeze ang ngiti niya habang nakatingin dito. Ganoon ba talaga kalaki ang epekto ni Jacinto Emilio sa kanya na kahit pangalan lang nito ay tumitibok ng mabilis ang puso niya?

Yes, she was in love with that guy pero matagal naman na niyang alam na hindi pwede. Jacinto Emilio was her friend, and it was supposed to stay that way pero ang kulit-kulit ng hypothalamus niya, ayaw makinig, one day, while looking at her very dear friend, Jacinto Emilio, she just realized that she was in love with him.

She was shocked by her realization. Ilang beses siyang nakipagdiskusyon sa sarili niya, maraming beses niyang sinaway ang sarili niya pero ayaw niyang makinig sa lahat ng pagababawal na iyon. Her heart was more stubborn than herself, it was as if, it just made a decision and it didn't even consult her. Basta na lang, isang araw, mahal na niya ito.

Who does that?

Napaka-cliché ng buhay niya. Falling in love with her very own best friend – she knew that thing will never end upin a happy way. Kung sasabihin niya dito, mas malaki ang posibilidad na masaktan siya at mawala ito sa kanya kaysa ang maging masaya sila – and she couldn't even bear the thought of losing Jacinto. Jacinto Emilio had been a part of her world for almost fifteen years now, she couldn't and wouldn't function if he wasn't with her. Malaki ang butas na maiiwan kung sakaling mawala sa kanya si Jacinto.

"Hanggan kailan ka tanga?" Tanong muli ni Anne sa kanya. She made a face.

"Midnight na pala kaya na-aaswang ka na naman." Biro niya sa kaibigan.

"Seryoso ako!" She said to her. "He didn't even remember your birthday tapos papakatanga ka sa kanya? One call from him and you're there already. Masyado mong ginagawang available ang sarili mo para sa kanya, eh hindi naman niya deserve iyon."

"JC is a really busy man. Isa pa, hindi ko naman nire-require sa kanya na maalala ang birthday ko. He's on vacation."

"Kahit nasa impyerno pa siya, dapat hindi niya kalimutan ang birthday mo!" Sigaw ni Anne sa kanya. Napalakas ang tinig nito kung kaya't napatingin sa kanila ang ilang mga kaopisina niya. She just smiled and waved at them tapos noon ay inirapan niya si Anne.
