"Rose, I know you recorded that video. Stop avoiding my question and admit it."
"I don't know what you are talking about, Leo." Rose shrugged with an innocent face.
"Stop calling me that!!!!!!" I cried.
"Why not? It's a good name!!!" She pinched my cheeks with her painted nails. I'm not a kid!!!!
I sighed and sank back on a chair next to hers. Now she could say my real name as much as she wanted since other people apart from us discovered that my name isn't Lee. Not just Lee, anyway.
For those who wondered what went wrong with my name, let me clear things up for you. The whole thing wasn't that complicated to understand, really.
When I was about to be born, the nurse who ultrasound my mother's stomach wasn't really a nurse, but he was a criminal in hiding. He told my parents that I was a boy. My father was so excited to have a boy for a firstborn that he decided to name me early. That fake nurse got arrested after, I was lucky enough that he wasn't the one who helped my mother to get me out.
My name, Leonardo came from my great-great-grandfather's name, Leonard, who used to be a musketeer and he brought pride and happiness to his family. My father must be expecting me to do the same as him, bringing pride to our family or something along those lines.
Alois is my middle name given to me by my mother. The name came from her main character in her first book, an orphan boy who has the ability to hear the dead's desires and become an exorcist at the end. That book was her first debut which also gave her an award and she liked that Alois character a lot so that was how I have the name now.
When I was four I have enough common sense to get that Leonardo and Alois are not the names a girl suppose to have. I was not that kind of kid who whined over anything and everything but I couldn't handle it because, come on, this is my name. I can't handle people saying my name out of mockery everyday until I could change my name. And if I did change them, they would tease me even more now that they know I cared.
If you still don't understand you should go change your name to Glitteringpoop.
All thanks to my parents' enthusiasm, they weren't bothered to rename me when I was born. Mum was pissed I whined about my name while my father was just laughed it off and didn't try to do anything about it.
"Hello."
I looked up to see Sabrina standing over me, she has the biggest eyeballs I've ever seen. I'm not even joking.
"Yeah?"
I asked dully, not even have a heart to be suspicious of her greeting and sickly sweet unusual behavior. Rose and I are currently waiting for Meg and Key to come back with some ice creams. Mum was with Lisa and the judges, talking about the agreement papers. Logan disappeared after the announcement so I guessed he has been heading back to his hotel.
"I was wondering if you can take a photo with me. You know, just in case if you ever become famous."
I glanced at her pink camera before nudging Rose, who was smiling to a senior I have no idea what his name was. The senior smiled back shyly but stopped as he saw Rose start to pay attention to me.
"She wanted to take a photo."
Rose eyed the camera like it was a snake and looked back at me. I returned her look. Sabrina passed her camera to Rose.
I felt like it was less than a minute for Rose to take a photo of the both of us. Sabrina, to my biggest surprise, thanked us and walked away to catch up with her father. She even winked at me. I snorted at her weird behavior before turning to say something to Rose.
