"So~ what do you want from me?"

I asked awkwardly as I placed both my hands in my jeans pockets. What? You're asking me if I'm nervous?

Are you mad!? Of course I am!!!

Mrs Andrews opened her table drawer and fished a piece of yellow paper out. She passed the sheet to me.

Hollywood Exchange Program: Audition

Dear one of the ten chosen participants,

We are pleased to inform that you've been chosen to participate in the audition for Hollywood Exchange Program [HEP].This audition gives the winner a chance to spend time with the host [which is one of the Hollywood actors]. Meaning that the winner will get an opportunity to explore the Hollywood world, they will get to be treated, traveled, practiced, worked, as if they are professional performers. This great opportunity will be a great start for the winner if they are taking performing or the like seriously and find their true selves. This program has no costs. All the participants have to do is to win, and get themselves ready for the new experiences ahead.

Yours sincerely,

The Hollywood team

"No," I said to the paper, "no," I said to Mrs Andrews, "no," I returned the paper.

"What's with the three nos? Are you that excited?"

"I am chosen? Me?!"

"Us teachers have to choose the participants. Holly Klaus Performing Arts is lucky enough to have a chance to do this. We choose ten participants does not mean all ten of you can go. They only need one from each school."

"Oh yeah? You're one of the teachers, and you guys only need just one. The winner is like a presentative of this school. I'm going to lose, no doubt. Sorry to disappoint you, but I'm not interested."

I spun around and headed to the door. When I was about to open the door, Mrs Andrews words made me stop.

"When are you going to stop with all the running away?"

"..."

"Why are you here in the first place?"

"..."

"To be an actor or an actress is a big gamble, Lee, much bigger than any occupations. So little chance that you will get a role, so little chance to make people notice you. That's why us teachers have to give our students as much chances as possible."

"..."

"Most of the students accept those chances without any hesitation, because they know that it is not certain that they'll get a job after graduation. But you, Lee Campbell, you declined every opportunities that came your way. What are you waiting for?"

"..."

"What are you afraid of?"

"All of you were always quiet."

"Pardon?"

I sighed and spoke a little louder.

"I said all of you were always quiet!!!"

"..."

"Whatever I did. Chanting the dialogues, dancing, filming, presenting, let alone moving according to my role, all of you were always quiet. No compliments, no feedbacks, no claps, no anything!!! How can I suppose to know about my progress?"

"..."

"Was I that terrible that make people speechless? Was I that amazing that you all were stunned and lost for words? I might look like a person that don't give a crap to anything that happen to me, but I still have common senses. I know how to be nervous, I know how to be disappointed, I know how to give up."
