'What the hell was that?' I thought as I walked over to the sink, and started to wash the dishes. My mind was twirling back to what happened earlier.
For those who don't know, I was great at breaking the awkward silence.
But not this time.
"..." << Laura
"..." << Logan
"..." << Me
Logan looked at me, and then Laura. I bet he was wondering how on earth we knew each other. Laura was looking at me and then looked up at Logan, she wasn't smiling like the last time I saw her. Her lips were a straight line and her eyes were full of tears.
As the quiet sob escaped her lips, it got our attention. Logan snapped off from his silent mode and quickly rushed to Laura's side. Wrapped his arm around her shoulders, both of them walked off.
Before the door came to a close, Logan glanced at me one last time. That stop me from walking after them, let alone asking him anything.
*~*~ SCSL~*~*
I woke up on the next day with a slight headache. Believe it or not, I was waiting for Logan to return. What an idiot, I knew that I'm not the type that could stay up very late or else I would catch a cold. And I still did it anyway.
I left my room after cleaning myself. As I walked down the stairs, I couldn't sense any living things either in the kitchen or the guest area. I couldn't stop the sigh that came out of my mouth.
*ding dong*
I almost tripped as I hurried to open the door.
The postman looked at me weirdly before giving me a medium sized rectangular brown envelop. "Sign please," he said with a raised eyebrow. I nodded awkwardly before using his blue pen to sign my name. I shut the door as soon as he wasn't in my sight anymore.
'Very good first impression, Leo,' I thought as I made a silent cry. I looked at the front of the letter.
From the Glamorous Magazine? It's for Logan, then. I'm not going to open it.
I dropped the envelop on the table in front of the HD TV before walking to the fridge. After acting awkward in front of an old postman I'm start to get hungry. We've got eggs so I guess I'm going to make something out of them. I don't really like cereal so I didn't buy any.
I was about to boil the eggs when I heard some noises at the front door. I froze and listened. A burglar? This early?
I grabbed one of the cooking knifes and headed to the door. My shoulders dropped when I saw who it was.
"It's just you."
I said in annoyance when I looked at Logan, who was on the floor. He looked up to meet my eyes and smiled. I frowned, was it just me or his smile looked a little off?
"I can't get up," Logan said as he reached his hands out for me like a child. I sighed before helping him up. I cursed loudly when the smell of alcohol hit me in the face. What in the heavens, he's drunk?
"Where have you been?" I asked while holding my breath. Logan laughed and putting an arm around my shoulders.
"No where," he said, "I just got back."
I rolled my eyes at his answer and lead him to the big sofa. I dumped him with a loud 'thud' before sprinting to the kitchen and grab the big rubbish bin. Logan smiled when he saw me coming back. I put the bin in front of him and went back into the kitchen again. As I looked through the fridge I heard choking noises going on in the living room. I knew it, lucky I was in time.
I went into the living room with a big glass of cold water and two pain medication pills. Thank the gods, he didn't dirty the carpet. The last thing I want right now is to touch his dinner.
Logan swallowed the pills obediently and rested his head on my shoulder. I frowned when I tried forcing him to lie down but he wouldn't move.
"Thanks."
"For what?"
"For not asking anything, about her."
I looked at his flushed face, "why would I want to know?" I asked, didn't expect an answer. Logan chuckled as he reached for my left hand and start to play with my fingers.
"She was the one," he said as he rubes his thumb on the back of my palm.
"The one what?" I asked.
Logan looked at me in the eyes, his blue ones tried to reminding me something. I frowned back at him and gave him a 'what are you talking about?' look.
"The plane," Logan muttered. My mouth made an 'O' shape before remembering the conversation between me and Logan on the plane.
"It'll be nice if she is this talkative like you."
"Who?"
"A girl."
I gave him a duh look, "What is she like?"
"Beautiful, sweet, polite. She gave me the rights to lead everything even though she was two years older."
"Where did you guys met?"
"At a photo shoot for a new magazine. I saw her and liked her then. We did a simple greeting and worked as we were told. We got along well. I was always frustrated with myself every time I was with her. Always say the wrong things and couldn't breath most of the time I thought I almost die from suffocation. I asked her if I could have her phone number, which was something I've never done. She said yes and we become text buddies. Trust me, I felt like a high school boy having his first love. It was quite stupid, really."
"..."
"I did everything to make her happy. She likes chocolate, I'll buy the best chocolate for her. She likes necklaces, I'll go find the most beautiful one for her. We didn't meet each other that long, but I knew that she was the one. The girl in my dream, it couldn't be anyone else."
"..."
"But she doesn't seem to see it. I felt like all of my effort were going to waste. She's in love with another man, a man that never look her way. It's like a stupid Asian drama, I'm not even joking. I'll die first before I could even cross the friend zone."
My eyes opened wide in shock as I looked at Logan. The man didn't look surprise, he just looked back at me with a calm expression.
Laura, that woman, was the one Logan has a crush on?
