Chapter 5

Hey guys! I'm in such a good mood! I logged onto Wattpad and six new people started following me as of today. Also, people added this story to their libraries, and I felt so happy that I just had to update. So, for all of my lovely fans and/or readers, here you go! :)

Chapter 5

CAROLINE

Klaus pulled into his driveway and I felt confliction start to pass through me. If we were keeping Ryder and were going to parent him, then what was going to happen with living conditions? I mean, I still had my mom who only liked Klaus because he saved my life. I let out a sigh and I knew Klaus was looking at me with worry and confusion, but I needed to think. Do I live with my mother at my house, or with my boyfriend and our adopted baby? I immediately knew what I wanted, but it was just a matter of getting everybody to accept it that would be difficult. I smiled and turned to Klaus who let out a breath of relief.

“Okay love?” he asked. I nodded and got out of the car and quickly opened up Ryder’s and saw that he was asleep. I smiled lovingly at him and unattached his car seat. With the other hand, I grabbed the baby bag that Klaus put together and with that, Klaus grabbed our luggage and we walked into his mansion to come face to face with Rebekah who was smiling. I felt slightly suspicious as she held her hands out for the baby, but he woke up anyways and I knew that Klaus would deal with her if something ever happened to Ryder at her hands. I nodded and Rebekah in a gentle and sweet motion picked up Ryder and started to play with him. That’s when I realized that Rebekah just wanted a baby and I knew that she could never harm Ryder, even if she was angry. Klaus vampire sped and put our things in his room and was back. When he came back, he walked to me and took my hand in his after I set the car seat down on the ground where it wouldn’t get in the way. I looked to him and smiled, actually happy for the first time. There was a knock and Klaus gave me a kiss on the cheek before he went and answered. Watching Rebekah and Ryder, I listened in to my boyfriend to find out who was at the door.

“Tyler.” I heard Klaus say and my heart stopped. Rebekah had Ryder in her hands in a second and was instantly by my side protectively. I gave her a weak smile, but my world had literally stopped.

“Klaus, I know she’s here. Let me talk with her.” I heard Tyler reply. I bit my lip as a tear fell as I remembered everything he did to me.

“No.” I whispered but I knew that both Klaus and Tyler would hear my seeing as I was only a couple rooms away. I heard Tyler yell my name and then a door slammed. My world was still frozen as Klaus came into view looking angry. He walked up to me and without thinking, I ran to him and wrapped my arms around his neck and cried into his shoulder. I know I shouldn’t cry about Tyler, and I wasn’t. I was crying because I was sick of dealing with him and I couldn’t do it anymore.

“It’s okay love.” He murmured before pulling away and kissing me gently on the lips, obviously much calmer than he was seconds ago. I calmed down slightly and he smiled slightly before turning to Rebekah.

“Will you babysit Ryder? Caroline and I are spending the night out. There are things that I’m sure she wants to do.” Klaus said his attention returning back to me. I nod and together hand in hand, we headed to my best friends houses to explain everything, Klaus and I including.

We pulled into Elena’s driveway, and seconds later she was on the porch with Stefan and Damon. I ran out of the car and hugged my best friend Elena, the newly turned vampire. She was surprised at first, but quickly hugged me back.

“Care, where have you been?” Elena asks with a smile after we pulled away. She shooed Stefan and Damon out of the house and we were alone inside. I took a deep breath and Elena immediately looked nervous.

“Elena, there’s something I need to tell you, but first you have to promise that you won’t get angry at me and stop being my friend for it.” I said honestly. I know it sounded stupid, but Elena hated Klaus and I knew that if she found out that we were dating, she would be just as angry with me. She looked suspicious and worried.

“I promise Caroline, now what’s going on?” she asked sitting down on the couch. I sat down on another couch and looked at her nervously.

“I was with Klaus…” I murmured causing Elena’s eyes to widen with shock.

“What? Why the hell would you be with him? Sorry, I'm keeping to my promise, but I have a feeling there’s more…” Elena muttered obviously not sure what to expect anymore. I sighed and nodded my head.

“There is. He found a baby, and it’s ours Elena. He found Ryder, the baby, in the woods and he couldn’t leave him there so he took him after making sure that he wasn’t missing. We were in an apartment, and he asked me out. Elena, Klaus is my boyfriend…” I muttered so quietly that I doubt she heard me. But when I looked up, I was wrong. Her face was angry and her hands were gripping the couch with anger. After another couple of silent minutes, Elena finally calmed down.

“Wow. It was only a matter of time. I'm going to ignore the part about you and Klaus, and let’s just talk about Ryder.” Elena said, obviously still pissed off. I slowly nodded and she looked at me with fire in her eyes, a fire that’s rarely ever in her eyes. I knew what she was thinking; if Klaus hurts her or Ryder, he will be dealing with a very angry Elena. I let out a sigh.

“Elena, he would never hurt Ryder. You should see how he interacts with him.” I say wistfully causing Elena to scoff. I narrowed my eyes and she sighed.

“Okay, but what about you?” she questioned narrowing her eyes. I smiled slightly at her.

“He treats me the same way he treats Ryder. Honestly Elena, it feels like we’re a family.” I said with a loving smile on my face. After talking with Elena for awhile, she loosened up at the fact that Klaus and I were dating and started to become the Elena that’s always been my bestfriend. I looked at my phone and saw that it was around eight. I gave Elena a smile after seeing her knowing smile on her face.

“Elena, can you talk to Bonnie so that when I tell her, she doesn’t kill me with magic?” I asked deadly serious. Elena noticed my seriousness and nodded. I hugged her tightly before I left. I walked outside and saw Klaus just leaning against a pole talking to Stefan and Damon who were chuckling at something he said. I felt Elena walk up beside me and heard her let out a small gasp.

“Caroline, it’s like he’s a completely new person…” Elena murmured to me. At that moment, Klaus looked up and gave me such a heartwarming smile, that I just had to smile. I giggled and turned to Elena who was smiling happily.

“You’re right Caroline. He’s changed and I approve. You’ve changed him for the better and I'm glad to see that even the darkest person can be saved.” Elena said giving me another hug. I hugged her back extremely happy that Elena accepted what Klaus and I had. It literally made me realize why she was one of my best friends. After saying goodbye to Stefan, Damon, and Elena, Klaus and I made our way back to his… our house.

We walked in and Rebekah was snoring meaning that she was asleep. I followed the sound and saw that Ryder and Rebekah were both asleep next to one another. I smiled and carefully took Ryder and brought him upstairs and laid him between Klaus and I, and soon, Klaus and I were asleep just like my precious Ryder.

Yay! Elena accepted that Caroline and Klaus are dating!!!!! The picture on the side is of Ryder as the cute, wide eyed green baby! :)
