Chapter 2

KLAUS

The actual killing-the-hunter plan failed, but I did learn something entirely knew that could be a major threat; the Five. I haven’t run into any of the Five since about the 12th century. During then, the ‘leader’ stabbed Rebekah, and the others stabbed Elijah and I. There’s something I learned however from them, and that is the ‘leader’ holds half of a map so-to-speak of where we can get a cure for vampirism. The only problem is that the other half are the tattoo’s on the bodies of the Five. However, for their tattoo’s to be complete, they have to kill vampires for it to grow. I dragged his body into the house and chained him up. I called forth a hybrid.

“Watch him, do not let him escape.” I said then closed the doors and left the room. I pulled out my phone.

“Stefan, old friend, I know of something that can help your problem with Elena, but I need your help.” I said. The other end was quiet.

“What do you need me to do?” he finally asked. I grinned.

“First off, come to my place. Then we’ll talk.” I said and hung up. I called forth another hybrid.

“Go fetch me Jeremy Gilbert. Make it quick.” I said. The hybrid nodded and left. After 10 minutes, Stefan appeared. I smirked.

“Ah Stefan.” I said and got myself a glass of whiskey. He sighed.

“I came to talk Klaus.” he said. I turned to him.

“Indeed you have, however, I need Rebekah but she is most, unwilling to help.” I said. Stefan stared at me wearily.

“And why should I help you?” he asks. I glare at him.

“I know of a cure to vampirism that can free Elena from this miserable life, or so I've been told.” I explained to him. He doesn’t say anything just stares at me.

“Fine. I will help.” he said. I grinned.

“Good. Now fetch Rebekah.” I said and left Stefan to it. Seconds later, the hybrid appeared with Jeremy. I smirked.

“Jeremy, I've heard you can see Connor’s markings, am I correct?” I ask. Jeremy nods and I hid my smile.

“Good. I need you to draw his markings for I've also heard you're a tremendous drawer.” I said and led him to the room containing Connor. Leaving him to it, I see Stefan walking in with Rebekah.

“Rebekah, what do you remember of the Five?” I ask her. She freezes and doesn’t say a word.

“Rebekah, did I also mention that you have a terrible habit for falling for the wrong guy? There was Alexander, then Stefan, now Matt.” I remarked. She glared at me. After a bit of pushing, I was able to get her to tell her story of that time.

Stefan turned to me with his jaw wide open. I sighed and refilled my glass. Rebekah started walking away but Stefan stopped her. She was staring at him confused when I took the dagger that killed Original vampires and put it behind my back. I cannot back out now, even though she is my sister.
