"It's okay. Ssshhh." I heard a woman speak in a soft voice, cuddling her baby. The baby's cry turned into a quite moan. I continued walking behind Simon throughout the store. I got stares from everyone. My bruises were still there. I walked a little bit faster so I could catch up with Simon. There was a cat call behind me and I turned my head slightly. There were three men staring at me. Well, not at me, at my ass. Before I could even say anything, a hand grabbed mine tightly. I looked back at Simon and saw him looking back at me. "Just go with it." He whispered. I nodded and walked beside him with my hand in his. "Oh you got your boyfriend to protect you?" I heard a guy taunt behind me. This time I didn't turn around. I walked faster, struggling to keep up with Simon's long stride. His hand squeezed mine even tighter. His hand felt strange in mine, like it didn't belong there. No one's hand really belonged there. We walked for a while before he let go. "Thanks." I said quickly. "It's fine." He said and ran his fingers through his hair. I looked around at all of the people staring at us when I wasn't staring at my feet as I followed Simon. "Can I take a picture with you?" I heard someone ask in front of us. I snapped my head up and saw a girl that looked younger than me. She was wearing a 'Sidemen' shirt as well. These guys must be pretty famous. Simon smiled immediately and nodded quickly. I stepped away awkwardly and waited for them to take a picture. "Is that you girlfriend?" The girl asked, smiling at me while Simon signed something. Simon looked up at me and chuckled a little before looking back down and saying something I couldn't really hear. He handed whatever he was signing to the girl and her smile grew even wider. "Thank you so much." He said and wrapped her arm tightly around his waist. The sight made me smile. He hugged her back before she quickly pulled away. "I've got to get back to my mum. Thanks again." She said with a nod. "You're very welcome." He said, still smiling. The girl turned and ran off. He turned to me. "Girlfriend?" I asked with a small smile. "Fans think strange things sometimes." He said with a shrug and kept walking. He was still smiling. "You guys must be pretty famous. Huh?" I asked, walking beside him. "I guess you could say that." He said as we finally reached the eggs. "Maybe you could be in some of our videos sometimes. Then you could be just as 'famous'." He said, putting air quotes around 'famous'. "That probably won't happen." I said as he picked out a lot of cartons of eggs. "And why is that? Camera shy?" He asked with a smirk as he handed me two cartons of eggs. He turned and walked slowly back the way we came. "No. Just...people shy I guess." I said and looked back down at my feet to avoid people's stares. "You don't seem too shy with the other guys." He said. "Yeah because I know I'm going to have to live with them." I said with a shrug. "Well if you were in our videos, you would have to live with the fans." He said and nudged my side. "I would also have to live with all of the hate." I said under my breath. "We all do. All you have to do is ignore them." He said. We turned the corner and walked past the woman and her now sleeping baby. "C'mon. It'll be fun." He said and looked down at me. "Can I at least wait until my face doesn't look like I got jumped?" I asked sarcastically. I waited for a smile or laugh but there wasn't any. "Did you actually get jumped?" He asked, completely serious. "No." I said and forced a laugh. "What happened?" He asked and continue walking slowly. "I already told you. I fell off of my bed and-" I started. "No you didn't. A bloody table can't do that to you." He said, stopping and looking at me. "Well that's what happened." I said, sighing in frustration. "You're lying." He said, eyeing me. I know I told Josh, but he is my brother. I couldn't keep it from him forever. But could I keep it from the other guys forever? I really didn't want the entire house to know. "I'm not." I protested, gripping the eggs tighter. He continued wailing and was silent. "I'll find out." He said with an affirm it's nod as we reached the checkout line. "Good luck finding out something you already know." I said as I put my eggs down. He smiled a little and looked down. "I know you're lying." He said, looking back up at me and walking past em to the bags of eggs. He paid for them and we were outside. "How would you know if I'm lying anyways? You barely know me." I said as I climbed into the car. He started it before answering. "I'm a psychic." He said and tapped his temple with his index finger before back out of our parking spot. "Oh really? What number am I thinking of?" I asked, not thinking of anything. He stroked his invisible beard and squinted past the glasses he was wearing. "7." He said with a nod. "Wrong." I said and looked out the window. His hand slapped the steering wheel playfully. "Damn it! I thought I had that one!" He said jokingly. I laughed a little. He was trying really hard to be funny and it was cute. "What do you think of living in London so far?" He asked, snapping me out of my thoughts. "I've been better." I joked. This is the best I've been in years. "Yeah right. This is as good as it gets." He said, turning into the driveway. "I disagree." I said, holding up a finger. He turned to me. "Tell me what makes London worse than where ever you a me from." He said. I smiled. "Devan is back in Texas. We can't go mudding here." I said simply "What about your dad?" He asked, scratching his neck. "Don't you miss him?" He added. "Nah." I said and grabbed the grocery bag before hurriedly getting out of the car. I heard Simon get out behind me. I heard his quick footsteps until he was in front of me, walking backwards. "How do you not miss your dad? He raised you." He said, opening the front door. "He didn't do a very good job of that." I said and walked past him into the kitchen. He knew the conversation was over when the guys crowded around us, grabbing the eggs quickly and heading outside. I sat back down at my seat in the kitchen and sighed. "We will talk later." Simon said, poking his head into the kitchen before running outside. Good luck with that.
