My alarm went off. Nine. I got up early to go do some shopping. Of course I’d bring Louis and Liam. Bodyguards I guess you could say. My cheek still beamed from Liam kissing me the day before. I slipped out of bed and got ready. Liam was already up, I was assuming, in the other room. I showered, got dressed, and put my makeup on. Lastly, I put my gun behind me and my pocket knife next to it. Not a sound from the room.
I opened the door and walked out. An arm was swung at me and I bent backwards. Coming up, I grabbed the arm, pulled the body over my shoulders and threw them onto the ground. I pulled my gun out, cocked it and pointed it at the person. My right high heel on their chest. It was Louis.
“What the bloody…!” Liam came in from the small kitchen.
My eyes shot to Louis. He was laughing while getting himself up.
“What the heck was that for?” I hissed.
“I just wanted to scare ya. I didn’t think you’d almost kill me.”
He was laughing like a little kid. I looked at Liam, his mouth still open in shock. I put the gun back and grabbed my purse.
“You two are going shopping with me. Let’s go.”
*******************************************
“Uhhhhg.” Liam whined.
“Oh, stop. It won’t be for long. I need some new shoes.”
We got inside and looked around. The mall was huge. People spoke in German, us not knowing a clue what was being said. Which could be a bad thing. Liam stayed by my side the whole time. Louis just went with whatever.
We first went to a shoe store. I got two pairs of heels and a pair of athletic shoes. I then found myself wandering around the mall for other things. Typical.
“Hey, I’m stopping at the nearest fitness store. I’ll find ya later.” Louis said.
I waved with a smile and Liam and I kept walking. There was a long silence with the clacks of my heels. I bit my lip and spoke up.
“So…did you mean what you said last night?”
Liam laughed to himself.
“Of course. You dont believe what I tell you, do you?”
“Not really. After the last guy, my heart’s just…I dont know. Froze itself.”
No reply. We walked in silence. My hand was grabbed and Liam meshed our fingers together. His thumb rubbed my hand. I looked down and smiled to myself. Not looking, I ran into something. I looked up. Liam was laughing really hard.
“Oh, shut up. What did I run….a sign. Hey look, there’s a coffee shop up top. I wanna go.”
The sign pointed to the nearest escalator. It led to the roof of the building. The whole roof was a small coffee shop area. I stared with a smile.
“Oh, dear.” Liam said.
I immediately walked up to the counter.
“English?” I asked.
“Yes. What would you like?” The guy said.
I smiled at the fact that he spoke English. Thank goodness. I ordered a caramel frappe. My favorite thing in the whole world. Liam got simple, black coffee. Gross…
We got to sit near the side at a little table for two. Liam and I sipped our drinks and looked out at the rest of Berlin. It was a little after eleven and small stores were opening up for the lunch rush. I loved it. I miss London a lot, though.
“So what do you want to do later?” liam asked.
He sipped his coffee and I thought for a second.
“I don’t know. Maybe wait around at the hotel for a few. I want to know what John wants us to do.”
I looked out at other buildings. Passing one, I saw a person standing on a balcony. Still staring, I spoke up.
“We can-“
A shot was fired from a distance and I felt an immediate sharp pain. I let out a small shriek. Everyone around us ducked down and screamed. Liam pulled me down and we crawled all the way to the exit. My adrenaline was pumping. We rushed down the escalator and ran all the way to the entrance we came from. Liam passed by Louis and grabbed him, tugging him along.
“What’s going on?!” He yelled, running.
“Someone’s noticed us. Quick, get a cab.”
We busted through a store on the last right, got through the crowd and illegally went to the back room. We slipped out of the back door and blended in with the crowd. I started to feel dizzy.
“Liam…” I said.
Louis got a taxi and we slipped in. I felt pain come back and Liam looked at me.
“Jora, you okay?”
“Oh my god.” Louis said.
Everything started to spin. Their voices were muffled. Everything started to go black. I slumped over onto Liam.
“Drive faster!”
