Liam wrapped his arm around my shoulders.
“Come here, love.” He said.
It’s four months now. I’ve got the baby bump and vertigo. I eat like a fat person. John had called yesterday and asked me to be back in the field. Well, can’t really. Come to terms, I won’t be able to for 4 years. I’m going to raise my child up with me and Liam in the family, not one missing.
Liam pushed the cart down the baby accessory isle of the department store. It hit me then that this was real.
“You feeling alright?” He asked.
I nodded. He was so caring since I spat the words of pregnancy. He was before but now it’s like I’m glass. He wants no cracks. Because he’s got two people he loves in one. He wants a baby girl but I’d like a baby boy. But whatever the doctor says, I’ll be overjoyed either way.
“Have you called your mum?” I asked.
“No.” He chuckled.
“She is going to flip out if you don’t tell her. Hey, Jora’s almost five months pregnant. Forgot to tell you.” I laughed.
He laughed his warming laugh and kissed my head. I looked at the cart. We had been shopping for the longest time. We couldn’t buy clothes because we weren’t sure of the gender. My phone started to ring.
“Miss Jora?” The guy asked.
“This is she.”
“This is your doctor, Dr. Malik. Would you mind coming in sometime today? Liam’s called, anxiously wondering when we could find out the gender and I’m free at the moment.”
Smiling, I looked over to Liam. He was oblivious to who was on the phone.
“Yeah sure. We’ll be there momentarily.” I said.
Dr. Malik hung up.
“So, you’re anxious?” I asked, smiling.
“Very. Was that Dr. Malik?”
“Yup. Lets go find out!”
****************************
He rolled the ultrasound ball over my stomach. It was so cold. Liam held onto my hand tight.
“Well?” Liam asked.
“Liam, wait. You’ve asked that for the third time now.” I said.
“Have you experienced any vomiting?” Dr. Malik asked.
He kept rolling the ball around, looking back and forth from Liam and I to the screen. We had already heard the heartbeat last month. Liam teared up.
“Yeah. And very bad mood swings.” I answered.
“That is completely normal, to assure you.”
We all held our breath as he squinted his eyes at the screen.
“Well…it’s a girl.” He smiled.
“Yes! Yes! Yes!” Liam yelled.
The biggest smile crept on my face. I shed a tear. Liam cried tears of joy. For the first time in my life, pure joy filled my heart. I was going to love my little girl everyday to the fullest.
Liam and I thanked Dr. Malik and were out. At home, Liam cooked some spaghetti and we cuddled up on the couch afterwards for a movie. All the lights were out.
“You look so beautiful.” He whispered into my ear.
I leaned my head on his shoulder. His hand engulfed mine, locking.
“How about…Charlotte?” He asked.
“Nah. *pause* Audrey?”
He shook his head. I thought.
“I like Bristol.” I said.
Liam was silent.
“I think I like that one, too. We’ll think on that one. But for now…”
Liam stood and picked me up. We went up the stairs into the bedroom. As he put me on the ground, his fingertips tried to pry the sleeves off my dress.
I slipped them off and his lips met mine. He took his shirt off and his jeans. Gently, he laid me on the bed.
“Remember the last time we were like this?” He said, into my neck.
“Remember what happened during it?” I moaned in his ear.
He let out a groan and pushed his hips into mine. I gasped and dug my nails into his shoulders. He started to bite my neck and yanked my panties off. Slowly, he pushed himself inside me. I arched my back and moaned loudly. The feeling was amazing. I dragged my nails down from his shoulders to his biceps. He pulled out then back in.
“You like that?” His voice was sexy.
I kissed his lips hard and begged for more. Liam’s deep voice was an instant turn on. I could never get enough of him.
He then laid next to me and we were under the covers. My head laid on his bare chest.
“I love you so much…” Liam whispered.
As soon as his sentence ended, I fell dead asleep.
