“I’ve got your back.” Louis said, drawing his gun out.
I nodded and kept going. We reached an elevator door. We waited after pushing the button.
“What’s the escape?” Louis asked.
“When we get Jora, call John. He’s waiting with a group.”
Silence.
“Have you planned this out before?” He asked.
“Well, yeah. Ever since we both entered the field, it’s been my job to get her back if I ever lost her. Even if I wasnt assigned to be her guardian, I’d still hunt her down. in mid mission, you’ve got to have a plan. Then a back up, to a back up, to a back up.”
Another silence. The door opened and Louis shot the first men he saw. We got them out and rode down. Further down, I realized how deep of trouble Louis and I were getting ourselves in. With dead bodies uptop, someone’s sure to see them and get others. The door opened and we opened fire on guards. A punch here and there.
“Check every door. Shoot any guy.” I said.
The hallway was clear. Louis found a few guys but I came across girls drugged up. I sucked it up and tried not to cry. This was of hell.
“There’s more doors around the corner.” Louis pointed out.
Turning the corner, I heard the elevator door open. Guards. All I could manage to think was Jora. Jora. Jora. We continued to search. Louis shot the guards and kept looking. Finally, he shouted from the other hallway.
“Liam! I found her!” He shouted.
I sprinted and got in the room. The sight almost killed me. She was in a thin sleep dress, busted lip, a bruise on her arm, and an IV in her arm. From getting Sydney, I did the same procedure. Her eyes were closed but I had a pulse. Louis immidiately called John. I gently pulled the needle out and wrapped her up in the pathetic blanket. I’m not having her be indecent.
“We need to go. Now.” I said.
I picked her up and got out of the room. Louis reloaded his gun and we got to the elevator.
**********************************************
I was numb. Cold. My senses started to come back. I felt like I had been in a coma. No memory excpet of being thrown into gravel. A familiar face came into view. Liam. My heart pounded of joy. But his face wasn’t happy. I reached my arm up and touched his face.
“Where are we?” I said, dryly.
“Oh, Jora. We’re almost out of this hell hole. As soon the door opens, we’re getting out.” Liam said.
My eyes focused on Louis. All I could feel from him was pain. I closed my eyes and nuzzled my face into Liam’s chest. The sun came through the door and Liam started running. Muffled shots were fired but Louis was shooting back. We turned a corner and were accompanied by John’s troops. We still had to make it up the street to be safe in a van. The troops fired and Liam was in full sprint. Then suddenly, Liam got a punch to the face from the alley. I fell and rolled on the concrete. Louis was nowhere in sight. I turned my head to see Liam already up and fighting on his feet. Behind him and the wrestler was John and two agents. Guns loaded and running. Liam knocked the guy out cold.
“Get her up. Let’s go.” John said.
I stretched my arms up to Liam and him and John got me up.
“No. Make sure that blanket stays on her.” Liam stated.
After John fixed me, Liam ran with me in his arms. All hell was breaking loose behind us. Not for protecting us, but to kill the other guys to get to the other girls down below. Then, I found myself in a van. In the back laying down in Liam’s lap. Head propped on his chest.
“You’re okay, Jora. You’re going to be fine.” He whispered.
He ran his fingers through my hair. After a few kisses to the top of my head, my eyes fluttered. My eyesight was going blurry. I fell asleep.
