Chapter 8: M.O.M.

Seems like everybody have had enough to hear yet Xander seemed to have a lot more to say kaya nagpatuloy lang siya sa pagsasalita.

 “Alam niyo, pare. Ngayon ko lang talaga naramdaman ‘to eh. Yung pakiramdam na mayroon kang gustong alagaan at protektahan?” he smirks dreamily. Para talaga siyang na-engkanto ng sampung impakto. Wala na, malala na talaga siya.

He is very much drawn unto her. Nang Makita niya ito noon na duguan at namimilipit sa sakit, nakonsensiya siya ng husto at naging pursigidong maipagamot ang dalaga. Sadyang matigas siya sa halos lahat ng bagay pero pagdating sa mga babae, hindi niya gustong may na-a-agrabyado. He truly cares for women. Ayaw niyang nakakakita ng babaeng umiiyak o nahihirapan man lang. Lalong-lalo pa kung alam niyang siya ang may kasalanan.

So when he learned what she lost due to his selfishness, he cursed himself and really felt sorry for her. He really felt wasted. Mas lalo siyang nahintakutan nang malaman niya kung anong klaseng buhay mayroon dalaga. Nakadagdag pa siya.

“Ewan ko ba, pero masyado akong naging affected sa mga nangyari sa kanya. It’s like my whole world turns when she entered it. She became my inspiration then. As history goes, nagpunta ako ng Amerika and hindi ko na siya nakita pa. Pero baon ko naman ang inspirasyon na bigay niya. Years after I went abroad and studied for my M.D., Dad gave me the position of GM (General Manager). First day of work, while I’m scanning the papers of assets and liabilities, I’m surprised to have seen a familiar name, Del Castillo.”

“Akala ko namamalikmata lang ako, pinaglalaruan ng tadhana oh ng kung ano pa man, pero hindi. I went to the place when company agents came to their house to inform them about the debt. I was there, watching from a far.” Tumigil siya nang bahagya, nagi-sip saka nagsalita ulit. “Nakapagtataka nga eh, ang laki ng utang nila sa banko samantalang. . . . “ he hissed.

“What? You’re saying something?” sabad ni Tristan na noo’y nakayakap na sa sarili.

“Nah, nothing. As I was saying, that incident was my first time seeing her again for years. That time hindi lang ako basta naawa o nagkaroon ng simpatya para sa kanya, I was even amazed with her stance and courage. Ako, nakikipagrambulan lang kahit kelan ko gustuhin sa kahit na sinong mapagtripan ko at wala akong pakialam kung sino mang Poncio Pilato man ang sagasaan ko.,Pero siya, she is fighting for dear life, for her family and shelter. Above all, she rises with such pride and dignity. I remember being such an arrogant freak towards her but she’s just, adorable. So I can’t help myself but laid my eyes on her.”

He sipped a bottle of Gatorade before continuing his story,  “That time, when she get my calling card and told me that she’ll pay for their debt, damn, I was stunned by her. Napakatapang niya para tumayo sa harap ko at sabihin ‘yon. Aaminin ko natuwa ako kasi alam ko na magkikita kami ulit nang dahil doon, but a part of me is gloomy for she can’t even remember who I am. Pero ayos lang kasi nga I still have a chance to see her. Damn! Unconsciously, I can’t even wait for three days just to see her again”

“At nung gabing yun, I was so shocked to see her at the bar. Actually I was about to leave when I saw her coming.” He seemed like informing them.

Charles gazed at him with disbelief. “Wow, pare! Just when I thought you came back for us.” He hissed. “And just when I believe you are not the type of guy who would go crazy about girls, ayan ka! Shit man! You’re such a dumb ass!”

“Oh yeah! That’s the reason why you can’t keep your eyes off her! Damn! You even meddle with other guy’s business, are you freakin’ jealous that time?” Ethan exclaimed

Xander chuckled as he saw everybody’s reaction.

“Yeah, right. I guess.” He smirks. “I tried to ignore her and deny what I’m feeling but I just can’t. Nang Makita ko yung ginagawa sa kanya ng lalaking ‘yon, naiinis ako’t napikon. Kaya ayun, hindi ko na napigilan ang sarili ko. Sinugod ko siya at sinapak sa mukha. I was dying . . . . . maybe with what you call jealousy.
