"So this is your first football match, right?" Asked my mom, smiling from the kitchen.

I shrugged. "I guess."

"And you'll go out with the quarterback?"

I started answering every question she asked, when a soul walked by the kitchen. I froze.

It's been a while since the last time I saw a soul in our house. It had curly blonde hair. I started to do what I usually did when I saw a soul, ignore it. But it stood right in front of me and studied my face.

"Sweetheart?"

Mom's voice woke me up from my daydream. I stopped looking at the soul, which was quite difficult since it was right in front of me.

"Um, yeah, sorry." Mom looked no longer so happy.

"Are you okay, Maddie? Maybe you should stay at home and relax. A whole week of classes must've been hard after want you've been through." I forced myself not to shake when a cold hand touched my hair.

"It's cute." The musical sound of the soul's voice surprised me. I jumped away from her.

"Maddie?" I took a long deep breath to calm myself down, and forced a smile I hoped looked normal.

"I'm alright, just a bit nervous. I need to finish getting myself done before Miranda and Wyatt come to pick me up."

Mom nodded and her smile came back.

"Alright, then. I guess being nervous is understandable since you're going out with such a handsome guy." She winked and I tried to keep my false smile before getting out of the kitchen.

I closed my room's door and turned to see if the soul had followed me.

"Are you listening to me?" The musical voice came from behind me. Surprised, I turned around and let out a small scream.

"What are you doing?" I asked, confused.

Why did souls suddenly start talking to me? She let out a chuckle.

"It's already fixed." She simply said and came closer to me.

"Don't come any closer." I said realising that it was the first time I felt scared of a soul.

She frowned. "You aren't very friendly."

I laughed.

"What? I'm not friendly to a ghost that wonders around my house and starts touching me? Well, I'm sorry but that's creepy enough for me not to be friendly."

"Oh yeah. Well, I guess I just thought you were used to us."

So she knew I could see souls.

"Who are you?" I asked again.

She didn't answer, but kept studying me. "I need to get dressed before my friends come. So if you don't have any good reasons to stay here, could you please find another house where you can wonder?"

Her musical laugh filled the room.

"I don't wonder around people's houses just for fun. I already told you, it's fixed." She said smiling widely.

I started asking her what she meant when, again, I was alone in my room.
I opened the door, I needed to see Ross. I wanted answers.

Before Ross, souls have never talked to me. I liked it when it was that way. I'd like to keep it like that. I didn't like the idea of souls getting close to me, touch and talk to me.

"Ross." I said aloud.

He has talked to me through the other half of the hallway. I guess he could hear me from anywhere. I wasn't an expert on souls's signals, anyway. I never felt the need of contacting one. I waited, but nothing happened.

"Ross?" I said again, feeling stupid.

The room kept quiet. With a sight, I opened my door letting all this go. I needed to stop playing with the supernatural and get myself done.

"Could you please stop looking for the rock star and focus on your boyfriend?" Miranda said. I must've known she'd catch me.

We were watching the game, and our team was winning with two touchdowns. I've spent all the game looking for Ross, but I didn't see him.

I frowned. "I'm not looking for the rock star. Football just bores me."

Miranda laughed and rolled her eyes. "Only you'd date the hot quarterback and then admit football bores you."

I shrugged and turned my attention to what was happening in the field. In the moment my eyes focused on Kendra, I noticed how her eyes acquired a spark as she saw someone. I couldn't see who it was from where I was, but I knew it was Ross. That'd be the only thing that would make Kendra change her annoyed expression into a stupid teenager in love.

I looked over Miranda and Wyatt, who were watching the game.

I reached for my purse. "I'll buy something to drink, do you guys want anything?" I asked, hoping they'd say no. I needed to be alone with Ross and get some answers.

"No, the game's about to finish and we'll go to celebrate. We could drink something there."

I nodded. "Well, I'll see you when this ends." Miranda looked at me and shrugged.

"Alright." I turned around.

Ross was standing watching the game with his arms crossed, looking like he was bored. His eyes met mine in the moment I appeared in the corner. A little smile appeared on his lips.

"I need to talk to you, now." I said as I lead us to the empty parking lot. I didn't turn to see if he was following me, I could feel his presence. "Who is her?"

Ross frowned. "Be more specific, please."

I sighted and closed my eyes.

"The soul who has came to my house, touched and talked to me. She said 'it's fixed' twice."

Ross tensed up and came closer to me.

"What?" He asked, surprise visible in his face.

"A soul came to my house. She touched me and talked to me. Souls have never talked to me, before you came. She even entered to my room." I whispered, scared that someone could hear me.

"She said 'it's fixed'?" I could notice he was trying to control himself, but I don't know what pissed him off so much.

I nodded. "Twice."

"Don't mess with me." His voice was loud and strong. I took a few steps back, not knowing why he was shouting like that. He stood there, his back facing me, and I waited.

Slowly he looked to me. Even in the dark I could see his beautiful hazel eyes.

"I'll be watching." His voice sounded even more intense than before. "If she ever comes to you, or any other... soul comes to you, just warn them that you're gonna tell me. Alright?" I was scared, not of Ross. But of something else.

"Who is her?" I asked again.

I could notice a signal of torture in his face before he turned away from me.

"Someone who has come to fix something wrong."

I walked closer to him, needing to know more, but he shook his head and disappeared.
