"She's lying." Youngbae said. He was pacing the room judging Rina with his every glare. She was curled up on the chair, feeling his every stare, looking like she's about to burst into tears. She was gone for all most an hour and when she came back she refused to tell us where she went or what she was doing. I myself wasn't sure what to make of it. All she said was that she went to take care of something. But whatever it was, she either didn't want to tell us or she was too embarrassed to. "It's nothing, I swear!" she said wiping her eyes with a napkin I gave her. "Of course it's nothing, because you can't actually tell us that you went to report to your daddy's men!" Youngbae shouted. "No! I didn't!" she burst into tears. My heart ache to look at her like that, but if she wouldn't tell us the truth there was little I could do to help her. Even if I was sure that she wasn't doing anything bad. "Rina, if you don't tell us, we can't believe you. You have to understand." I tried to persuade her with calm and reason. But Youngbae pacing angrily by us didn't help at all. "I was just taking care of something, it's not even important." She replied. I looked up at Seung-hyun, who was quietly leaning against the wall and carefully observing the whole scene. He looked at me but he didn't say anything. He didn't believe her either, or he would've said something by now. I gave him a look that said he should say something. He sighed. "It doesn't make sense, if she sold us out she wouldn't have come back on her own." Seung-hyun said, finally giving a reasonable counter explanation to Youngbae's attacks. But he just shot us both a glare and turn again to Rina. "Just tell us the truth already, you've been found out! Who did you tell where we are? How many of them are coming and how far are they?" Youngbae terrorized her with all these questions. I ran my hand through my hair, this can't be it. "I swear I didn't tell anything to anyone." She said through sobs. I realized she was reaching her limit, whatever she was hiding, it wasn't what we thought it was. But she still wanted to keep it secret. But if Youngbae kept pushing her with harsh words soon we'd all find out. I was just about to tell him to get out when he pushed me out of the way. He approached her and forced her to look him in the eyes. "You're nothing but a snake! A lying, deceiving, poisonous snake! And if we die because of you, I'm taking you with me!" he said. What surprised me most was that his words weren't filled with loathe at all. Instead you could clearly hear disappointment and pain in his voice. It was heart breaking. She looked at him with wide eyes, her lips shaking in fear and tears rolling down her cheeks. She probably sensed the disappointment in his tone too. She opened her bag and pulled a box out of it, leaving it on the table near Youngbae. "It's this. And I just wanted to give it to you when we were alone." She said just before she ran out of the room. Seung-hyun and I exchanged looks. "It could be a bomb." Youngbae said looking at it, refusing to touch it. And that was enough to make me as mad as a bull. I stomped towards the box and opened it. I didn't even get a good look before I showed it to Youngbae. All that I saw was a golden watch. His jaw dropped. "A bomb?" I said sarcastically. He took the box from me and pulled the watch out. Apparently it was important enough that Seung-hyun's eyes widened too, and he approached to see it better. "That..." he started but Youngbae cut him off. "Is my father's watch. But I lost it." Both their eyes were wide in surprise, their mouth forming a small o. Seung-hyun furrowed his eyebrows incredulously. "And it was shattered. I saw it break in pieces!" he said. I looked at both of them. I got this urge to slap them both for what they put Rina through because of a simple pocket watch. "Great, so that's what she was doing while she was missing. She went to repair an old watch." I said disapprovingly watching both of them. Seung-hyun gave me a shameful look but Youngbae refused to back down. "She might've had it all this time with her, for leverage, we can't know for sure." He said, but even he wasn't sure of his words anymore. "It might not even be the real one!" he said, but his voice was so low that I knew not even he believed that. It was like he wanted her to be the bad guy. Of course, if that were so it would be easier for him to deny his feelings for her. I decided that not saying anything was better, I gave them one last glare and went after Rina.
