42) Joyous Claire

Claire-

Claire sat in front of her parents with Sam and Erick. They were having a family meeting. It was time they discussed the events and the past. Claire didn't want to talk about it. But she can't move back; she has to keep going forward for her baby and Saito.

"Well," Irena smiled. "Claire, I know it's been difficult; we failed you as parents."

Claire shook her head. "You both did your best; it's no one's fault."

Irena scooted closer and grabbed her hands. "My beautiful Claire, I'm so proud of you. You held on strongly and survived. You have a handsome soulmate and a baby on the way. I couldn't have asked for a better son-in-law."

Claire hugged her mother. Her scent and warmth embraced her. Claire has wanted to hug her mother for so long.

"Losing Xavier was hard on all of us," Irena stroked her hair. "Claire, have you gotten over it? At least enough to live your life as Xavier wanted you to?"

Claire sat up and nodded. "Yes, I'll forever mourn Xavier, but I'll move on. I have my child to think of." She wiped her eyes. "I'll be alright; I have you, my father, Sam and Erick."

"And another sibling on the way," Irena chuckled.

Claire giggle.

Claire went home soon after; as much as she wanted to stay with her parents, she wanted to be with Saito. Saito was sleeping on the couch when she arrived. He looked so peaceful there was a tiny scar on the corner of his forehead. He probably got it fighting the angels and the immortal weapons.

Zeus managed to retrieve almost all of the weapons; three were missing. Sam and Erick will soon leave on a quest to retrieve them, wherever they are.

"Claire," she looked up.

She looks down. "Saito."

Saito pulled her down on top of him. Claire could hear his heart beating fast.

"How did it go?" He asked.

"Good," she sighed. "My mother is going to have another child."

"That's good," Saito sighed. "The world could use some sunshine."

Claire nodded. "Oh, by the way, what happened to Eleanor?"

"She's at Jack's clan; she'll be staying with Demitri and Luna," Saito said. "Once Luna isn't there yet, temporarily, Eleanor will stay with Jack and Denny."

"What about Sunny?" She asked.

"Zeus's currently examining Sunny, and then she'll return here," Saito asked. "Lunic is going to purgatory; she'll remain locked up until further notice."

"What about the three unfortunate souls?" Claire asked. "Wasn't Lunic supposed to help them?"

"I guess not," Saito stroked her hair. "I think someone else is going to take care of that. Zeus isn't going to abandon his children."

"Children?"

"The three souls were supposed to be Zeus's children," Saito said. "He was going to perform three new miracles on three different women. But as you know, it didn't happen."

"I see," Claire sat up and looked down at Saito. "Saito, I'm sorry for being such a crybaby."

He chuckled and rubbed her belly. "I understand your pain; the only reason I became upset is because of our baby. You weren't eating, and I got worried."

Claire does pray she didn't put a strain on her baby. Savannah says the baby is healthy, but what if the baby comes out blind or with some form of disability because of her lack of nutrition?
