1756 Hours"HEY."
Medyo nagitla pa ako ng may biglang nagsalita sa likod ko. Si Spes, of course. Nandito kami sa bahay ng magulang niya.
Honestly, I don't have an idea why I showed her my old university. Ang plano ko kasi dati, sa mate ko lang ipapakita yon. I never wanted to bare my soul for someone else rather than my soulmate. Because really, what's the point of telling those stuff to a person who you know wouldn't end up with you? I just opened the door for her to invade my privacy.
And it was terrifying.
"Coffee?" I asked her nung medyo naka move on na ako ng konti sa mga ginawa namin.
"Sure. Lagay mo na lang sa travel mugs. I'll tour you around here." Then she smiled. Hindi yung plain na ngiti lang. Yung parang may assurance na binibigay yung ngiti niya na hindi siya mawawala bigla or something? Tangina. Ang weird ko, don't mind me.
After a couple of minutes we were already out.
"Where are we exactly?"
"Puffind. This used to be our pack village but they converted it to a subdivision. I, however, pulled strings and used a lot of connections so that that house would remain there and the landscape of the pack village would be preserved." She sighed and smiled a little sadly. "It all paid off, right Mr. Architect?"
I looked around and tried to take in the whole image of the subdivision.
"It's amazing." I muttered, "It looks like the houses in Cat in the Hat by--"
A/N: Or if ever familiar kayo sa Brgy. San Gabriel, Sta. Maria, Bulacan may lugar don na sobrang adorable ng mga bahay and that's how Spes' village looks like.
"Dr. Seuss, right? I really adored that movie. The Cat was just so..."
"Adorably realistic." I supplied.
She nodded, "Yeah. When I think of it sometimes, it doesn't really seem like a children's story."
"It's like an adult who discovered all the painful shits of the world, had compromised his feelings in a children's story."
"Like he wasnt really sure whether its a letter of caution for kids or a list of regrets." She continued as I watch her sit on a bench in the park.
"Damn. What's wrong with us? It feels like we're thinking in the same page." I muttered with amusement and wonder.
"It's called Mental Relationship in debate. It happens when people are conversing their brain kinda connects." She explained with a shrug. Like what she said was nothing. Like it was just a common thing.
"How do you do that?" I asked and sat beside her. She faced me, "Do what?"
"That. Labeling and explaining things. How do you know them all?" I'm not trying to offend her. I'm just curious.
"Curiousity killed the cat."
"But satisfaction brought it back."
Damn. Why remind me of that exchange right now, brain? The fuck is wrong with ya?
"Oh." She said sheepishly, "I don't know them all. I just like labeling stuff so I won't get confused. I don't want to step into certain lines and step away to far from them. I like to know where I stand."
