"WHAT BROUGHT YOU HERE?"
Yan ang pangbungad na tanong sakin ng kuya ko pagkapasok ko sa Café ni Meredith.
Kunwari na lang hindi ko pansin yung anxiousness ni kuya. See, since kuya Elvin's death my two other brothers were placed in a dangerous position because they work as Royal Guards.
"Hmp. Di naman ikaw ang pinunta ko dito." Dire-diretso akong pumasok at pumunta sa office ni Meredith.
"Hoy Sirena," bungad ko pagkakita ko sa kanya na sitting pretty sa swivel chair niya at nag babasa ng kung anong report ata.
"Why, grumpy old bitch?" She asked without looking at me. Taray naman neto.
"Namiss ko na ang mga kaliskis mo. Tara." Nilapitan ko na siya at hinatak palabas sa office niya.
"Saan?"
"Kailangan ko ng matinong kausap at unfortunately ikaw yon." Dun kami umupo sa table namin ni Aither last time. Eh sa naging favorite spot ko na to eh. Di ko namimiss ang bonding moments namin ni Enteng. Itaga niyo yan sa bato.
She stared at me intently for like three seconds and said, "Hoy slave,"
Eh? Who is she calling a 'slave?'
Yayamanin na siya ah! May alipin na!
Imagine my shock when kuya Eliot went to our table. Omg. Tinignan niya ako na parang tinatanong kung anong gusto ko. "Coffee Vanilla, large and waffles." I told him with a mocking look which he ignored. Taray ni kuya!
"Master?" He asked Meredith with that adorbs boyish expression which I only saw once. When we were kids.
"Blueberry pancakes and hot chocolate, thank you." Meredith said without looking at him. Focused pa rin ang isda sa iPad niya. Nung narealize ni kuya na hindi siya titignan ni Meredith umalis na siya with a blank look on his face.
And I was right, something's wrong here.
After about a minute binaba na ni Meredith yung iPad niya at tinignan ako, "Ramdam kong may gusto kang ikwento."
"Ikaw din, may dapat ikwento."
"Bato pick na lang tayo kung sino mauuna?" She asked me with a half smile.
I nodded so we did it and she won.
Wala pa siyang sinasabi pero ramdam ko na. Pano ba naman the temperature dropped almost immediately after her victory. Nagmamadali namang lumapit si kuya Eliot samin, binaba yung tray tapos hinawakan yung kamay ni Meredith.
"Hey, hey, what's wrong did something happen? Are you okay?" He glared at me (wow, kuya ako yung kapatid mo dito hindi yang isdang yan), "What did you do to her?"
"Ha? Wala ah! Wag ka ngang ano dyan. Bumalik ka na lang dun." Pangtataboy ko sa kaniya. Hindi naman kasi dahil mates sila, sila na lang ang tao sa mundo. Meredith needs other people, kuya Eliot needs other people too. Yan kasi ang karaniwang problema sa lovers eh, minsan feeling nila sila lang ang tao sa mundo. Tipong you are my world ang drama. Hello! The world doesnt revolve on the two of you! Hindi sapat yang love niyo para mag thrive ang relasyon niyo. Walang forever, mga punyeta. Ay, nag ampalaya? Sorry guys. Rough week.
