Paths

I used to walk on a path

Traveled by a many

Along the way, I stumbled

Once, twice, a few more

I found myself elsewhere

A path ventured by few any

Feeling strange to the core

At parties and groups

I'm all laughs and smiles

No one needs to know

I wonder what's worthwhile

But, I longed for one to see

I had lost an important piece

A valued piece, a piece of me

Gone, drowned in a sea of grief

A costume worn daily

Happiness on my face

Real feelings separated

By a cavernous space

People wonder why

I ponder "since when"

Negativity

Brought my end

- Author's Note-

It's a bit gloomy and angsty. I'm sorry if it ruined your mood. I wrote this while feeling kind of despaired. Key word: Negativity. But, the sun does come up again. :)
