I pushed the glass doors of the cafe Pearl works in wide open and strolled inside. I walked to one of the empty tables and settled, waiting for my eyes to catch her. I turned my head to search until I saw her serving coffee to a man with a black suit.
He smiled at her and then ran his eyes over her body. Anger ignited inside my veins but I got hold of my composure. I grimaced when he motioned for her to come closer and it pained me when she did. He whispered to her something briefly before she stepped back and shook her head, telling him something.
He nodded and sipped on his coffee while she walked away, passing me. She stopped, I could feel her eyes on my head before I heard her footsteps closer.
"Hi," she chirped, grinning.
"Who's that?" I asked her, nodding my head to the man she just spoke it.
"A customer," she shrugged. "He's an owner of one of the best companies out there."
"Oh really?"
"Yeah, I think it's called Hendrixational. I can't really remember, but he comes here regularly."
I forced a smile out.
"Coffee?" she asked me and I nodded before she disappeared behind the counter. I looked back to the man with the suit as he stood up, left what seemed like a pile of money on the table and walked through the doors.
She wasn't wrong when she said he's the owner.
