"Connor?!?" I whisper as I cross over the room to open the window.

"Hey." is all he says. What is he doing here?

Connor is someone I never thought I would ever see again in my entire life. Conner is/was my best friend before I moved two towns away, which is a good 2 and a half hour drive from where he lives.

"What are you doing here?"

Connor is the only person who actually understood me. I loved to sing back home, but I hadn't been obsessed with lyrics like I am now.

"I came to see you because I have a suprise."

I raise my eyebrows, "And what would that be?"

"Come outside and I'll show you."

I sneak out of the front door, careful not to wake up my mom and dad.

"I hope you know it's one in the-" I stop when I see the thing that would change my life forever.

"I'm your new next door neighbor!" Connor says excitedly. (A/N he reminds me of a five year old. He sure does act like one most of the time. Lol, continue.)

I run and hug Connor because this means everything changes. I'll have someone to talk to at school, someone to stick up for me. When I let go of him, I have a huge grin on my face.

"I didn't expect you to be this happy!" He says, "Come on, we can go to my room!"

"Okay!" I can't get this smile off my face. Life is going to change for the better. I can feel it.

"It's a little crowded because I haven't unpacked anything yet, but at least my bed is up." Connor says as he plops onto his bed.

"That alright. I'm just happy you're here. So....ummm....whenareyoustartingschool?" I say in a rush.

"Whoa, slow down, what did you say?"

"When are you starting school?" I say slower and coherently this time.

"Monday. Today and tomorrow I'm unpacking as much as I can. I've already been enrolled into Mountain Ridge." He explained

Mountain Ridge High School is where I go to school. It's one of three high schools in this town. There's Mountain Ridge, Laguna Creek School of Fine Arts, and River Fork High school. All of them are boys and girls schools. I wish there was an all girls high school. It could make my life much easier. But, now I have Connor, so I won't need that fantasy anymore.

"Look, Connor, I better get home, but I'll come over tomorrow and help you unpack, okay?"

"No, you don't need to do that, I'll unpack on Sunday. We can hang out tomorrow. Maybe we can start on that duet we had been planning two years ago?" He asks

"Yeah, I'd like that. See you tomorrow!"

"Bye Harmony!"

I walk out of Connors house and go back to my house. I open the door, wait, no I don't, I try to open the door, but then being the idiot I am, I locked my self out. How did Connor get to my window? I walk around to the side of my house and see a bunch of vines. Great, just great. I should have tried harder to climb that rope in gym.

I grab the first vine I see and I start to climb, but being the idiot I am the vine broke.

I fall about four feet and land on my butt. I grab another vine and test my weight on it. It seems sturdy. I hope I can stay up this time. I start to climb and I get to the window when the vine snaps. I grab onto the window as the vine falls to the ground. That was close. I pull myself up plop onto my bed.

I get up and close my window and then start to clean up my room.

When I'm done I just turn out my light and almost immediately I'm asleep.
